Pairing will be available by July 1st, 2022, at the lastest. Pairing consideration is given to previous participants on the basis of where they have sent and recieved in previous rounds. A balance is always tried to be struck in regards to the above and to break down of participants geographically. All are choosen at random. Also know that your target is not your sender. 1 sends to 2, 2 to 3 an so on.
All sender's targets are outside of their home province, I look over previous rounds and try to make sure the province your sending to/receiving from is different but here and their overlap does occur depending on provincial breakdown with how many have signed up.
Target 1 - Hint 1) I've never sent anything to you before in a previous round, but have sent to your province many times. Stay tuned!
Target 2 - Hint 1 - You live in a beautiful village in a province west of me with quite an interesting historical past, as well as having a beautiful provincial part fit for a Nymph.
Looking forward to this one! I'm pretty easy to please, almost anything cellar-able is right in my wheelhouse. I'm not big on sours but honestly I'm happy to try anything my sender wants to throw in the box. Cheers!
Target lives in a Province in which I loved for the first 27 years of my life.
Target has posted in this thread, and may or may not have posted a list of styles liked/disliked.
If my target likes this post, he or she will receive a beer that comes in a bottle in a tube or box.
BTW, my untappd is here:
LIKES: Coffee in beer! Like everyone else on here, I enjoy old ales, barleywines, and BBA stouts that aren't diabetes sweet. I'd be happy with anything barrel-aged that isn't stomach-dissolvingly acidic or tastes of diacetyl. I like quads/dubels, but find tripels too spiced. Anything dry and clean. Wee Heavies. Gimmie that crazy ABV shit. Well-made or innovative mead (Schramm's, B. Nektar). Or beers that incorporate mead/wine or grapeskins/must.
DISLIKES: Smoked beers. Rum barrel-aged. Lactose in beers other than milk stout. Most spiced or fruited beer. Most recent IPAs - DIPAs are great, but not NE IPAs. I don't tend to like IPAs with a piney profile or hop burn/aggressive hopping either. As a rule, I tend to find most lagers skunky.
You can find me on Untappd with the same username, and I'll send Electros a link to my cellar. Thanks for reading my monologue.
Target 1) Hint 2) You reside in a town named after a man treated with quite a reverence that also has a twin town located in another country.
Target 2) Hint 2) "duh", green is my favourite colour and I think yours could be purple.
Target 1: You live close to two different Costco! What a world. What convenience!
Target 2: You live near a neighbourhood name checked in one of my favourite songs by one of my all time favourite bands. The song also mentions drawing with sugar and a beverage tasting bad. Have you heard it?
Got a package ready to be shipped out early this week, to a recipient very far east of me.
Earlier iterations of this BIF suggest an affinity for barrel aged beers Mr. Target. I will endeavour to lean heavily in that direction. It may be another week or so before I get the box out, but I will send before the window closes.
Target 1) Hint 3) Members of your family have quite a few small businesses. A Home Hardware Store, towing company, animal hospital as well as massage therapy clinic all dawning your surname. Cool!
Target 2) Hint 3) A 1941 American film directed by Lee Landers is likely right up your alley. Sidenote whilst checking your Untappd I noticed one particularly one very well known Michigan brew with a classic Canadian theme you've not sampled. Like this post and it will be in your box!
You are my only target
you live in the maritimes.
you live at 1372km far from my house.
You didn’t mention any prefered styles nor mention your untappd details in the main thread. But I was lucky enough to find your infos: I had 3 bottles waiting in the cellar for you, that was on your untappd’ wish list !
I have join untappd 7 years before you.
Your box is on your way sooner than later !
Have a nice week !
Sorry for my tardiness! Was on vacation for a little bit.
I like big malty beers (both dark and amber). Barrel-aged ones are great. Cognac barrels rule-- rum too, and of course bourbon. Adjuncts are fine but the fresher the better if adjuncts are involved (IMHO).
Not a huge lactose fan but I will drink it.
I don't particularly care for sour beers, unless you think it is truly remarkable/special. Balanced tartness is ok in a mixed-ferm saison kind of setting-- I like a nice white wine BA mixed-ferm saison. No "aged" clean saisons please-- that ain't right.
TL;DR send me good beers and I will be happy =)
To my target: you live west of me (duh), but not as far west as some folks in the thread.
I think that maybe your nominal township may only have 1 Tim Horton's, which is kind of blasphemous if you really think about it.
One package off and away to a recipient who lives in a town that may or may not be named after a singer named Micheal, or a sadistic character from Game of Thrones.
I thought I had this box figured out, LOL.......
I've haven't met the 3000ml minimum requirement.........
Back to the old drawing board.........
Two packages shall be going out tomorrow! Their magical journey is forthcoming as well as my final hints. Cheers all!
Bombs away. Dropped off at CP. Godspeed little packages!
Handed my box over to Canada Post this morning!
One will drop Monday with the second dropping by Friday.
Target 1: I believe your a fan of beer blogs.
Target 2: It's a mystery to me why the CP fuel surcharge is higher for your address then anyone else I've sent too. That ship delivering it must be a gas guzzler!
Can’t wait to find out what’s in your box !
wasn’t sure about your first hint.
But now I am 100% confident I was your target !
will get your box on time for the holidays !
thanks in advance !
To my target, you're east of me, and I'll get your package into the mail this coming week.
To my sender, I like big, bad high abv beers - imperial stouts (including adjunct/dessert stouts), belgian beers, old/strong ales, barley wine - and always appreciate anything barrel aged. I like saisons as well.
Generally NOT into sour beers anywhere on the spectrum - Please NO kettle, flanders, gose, berliner weiss,etc.).
I like trying new things - pretty easy to please outside of sour land!
Notice for pick up left, hope you enjoy!
My post got deleted..........
I guess the mods didn't like the link I posted to a close up picture of Randy's gut?
I thought it was a great hint,
Your street shares similarities to an NHL team
I've worked beside your province and flown over many times, but never been in.
These are all new beers for you (checking untappd), but right up your alley.
The beers have arrived! What a haul this is. I've not heard of most of these before and they all look delicious.
My guess at the sender? Well a good hint always helps,
Thanks a bunch mystery-ship. They all landed safely.
Deschutes Brewery The Abyss Coconut
Brouwerij Kees Caramel Fudge Stout
Driftwood Brewery Singularity (2022)
Luppolo Brewing EVOLUTA V (BBA)
Strange Fellows Strange Resemblance
Garden Path Fermentation The Garden Paths Led To Flowered
Hint #2 for my target: There is a movie set of sorts that's only about a 5 minute drive from your house, that seems to be a place that Playboy may have filmed some things at
Hope you enjoy, Cheers!
Very curious about the Belgian pastry stout! Had a double take reading it, thinking....this is out of the norm!
Hint 3: I've never traded with you before, but I've had a CANBIF sender from your province in the past.
To my sender: Got a notification that the box is dropped at my building. Cannot wait to open it tonight. Yammy beer is coming.
To my target: Also got settled in the CP office today. Will go to an ocean shore either East or West. Not sure yet.
The package is on a 2031 km journey,
Proper picture upload:
Thanks @Electros for these beers
can’t wait for fall CANBIF !
