I added some wants to my list, mainly as style guidelines. The only thing I don't really like are barleywines, other than that fresh IPA's, sasions, lambics, wheat beers, stouts (RIS/ba/and non), lagers, etc are all good in my book. :sunglasses:

Threw in some more Canadian stuff.

Small caveat: I'm kind of a stickler for freshness so if there's no way to determine how old it is (you can check my site if you want), i'd rather try something that i know hasn't been collecting dust. Don't think it would well represent the brewery as sometimes these things are out of their control (though i still think a bottling date should be the norm across the board). I have so much wants, it should be ok

PS: Obviously, talking about lower ABV stouts, porters, etc... If it's cellarable, i'm always interested :grinning:

Good to know. I have been thinking about throwing a CDN barleywine in my box that has been sitting in my cellar for 7 years.

Lucky guy who gets that! I re-read my post, hope i didn't make t seem like i was expecting aged goodies :flushed:

Meant more that if i see a high ABV beer on the shelves, i'm less concerned about dates than if it was an IPA or a lager.

Targets won't be announced until sometime this week. They technically have until Friday to tell us.
My box is half packed and I still have no idea who I'm shipping to. Might have to remove some bottles depending on likes/wants lol

lol yeah, I've got most of my selections prepared already; picked up another nice bottle today.

Proposed to my future wife today, and we are now officially engaged! Funny story: I was supposed to do it yesterday, had a whole gameplan set up and everything... but my crazy next-door neighbor started shooting at police and ambulance workers then barricaded himself in his house. My backyard was full of SWAT and they were carrying around a blast shield. After cowering in the dark holding butcher knives for two hours, we were evacuated and unharmed, but I didn't get home til 6 AM. Thought about it today after we got some sleep and said "Fuck it... there is no perfect moment". Then I proposed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just an update on weather for eveyone....We had SNOW in Winnipeg yesterday. :grimacing: I'm guessing it's probably going to be at least 2 weeks before it's safe to ship boxes in/out of here.

Thanks for the update. It is probably best to hold off for a bit in that case. Looks like we will be on the wrong side of zero here until Wednesday and then things will warm up.

My styro shippers have arrived. Can't believe I didn't order these sooner.

There's a big "This package contains alcohol" marking on one of the flaps, though.

Put your shipping label over it or stick packing tape over it and then pull it off (repeat until the label along with a thin layer of the cardboard comes off).

I'd be more inclined to cover it and than attach the label holders. We've had the label covers rip open or fall off. If the paper is removed it'll be clear as day.

He is saying to use the tape to rip off the top layer of cardboard that has that stamp on it. I often get lazy and just cover it up with non-transparent tape of some kind. Either way, the important thing is that it is not visible, even if the packing label becomes detached from the box.

I hear that it is predominantly an Essex County beer now and the recipe was relabeled as Carling some years ago. My local.

In my neck of the woods OV is reffered to as the "Crediton Crippler" As Crediton is a small town of about 200 that drinks nothing but OV
