I'm documenting my beer cellar and found a bottle of this that was purchased at least 4-5 years ago. Searching the label, I can't find any indication of year/batch etc. Any of you have an older bottle and able to confirm what the 2007 label looked like? I suspect that's what it is...

By the way, I'm not looking to trade it right now, just seeking info and figured this may be a better/more helpful forum than Beer Talk...

    Thanks,
    Brian

If you bottle was purchased 4-5 years ago that it would almost certainly be that vintage. The most recent vintage was out last year. I believe the label is the exact same. If you aren't sure look for a date on the label as Cantillon usually does this.

also check the cork, they usually have the year printed on it

@jdhende Yeah, I figured 2007 because of when I bought, just couldn't find an markings/date anywhere on the label to be 100% certain.

@mph005 I hadn't planned on unwrapping the black foil over the cork and neck, but that's a good point. Had forgotten about the dates on the corks...

    Thanks!

If it has the traditional 50N label and it is that old it is certainly an 07. There was a small test batch of Cognac Lambic that was bottled in 04 and sold at Akkurat but that did not have the traditional 50N label. This beer eventually became 50N after it was put in Cognac barrels there after. This cognac lambic from 04 is one of the best beers I have ever had and that 07 you have is also drinking superb right now. Hope that helps.

If you read the actual wording on the label it will give you the answer. I don't have any 07s next to me at the moment but the 2012 states that it was brewed in 2010, aged for 2 years in Cognac barrels and bottled in 2012. I believe the 07's have a somewhat similar wording but with the earlier dates.

Easiest way to tell the difference is that the 2012 doesn't have any black foil.
