    Are they doing this again?

What is this beer listed under?

Is it just called 'Cantillon Lambic'?

Is there some other name I am missing?

Lurchingbeast brought a box to a tasting in November and I would like to be able to post my notes!

In the meantime- did anyone else try it and find that the sulpherous (rotten egg and fireworks) smell was unbearable? It improved tremendously as it decanted. But man, that first sniff sent me reeling!

I don't trust juice box cantillon. Bottles, baby, bottles.

Pretty sure Belgiuminabox isn't shipping them to the States anymore.

How long does Cantillon hold in the box? Is it pasteurized?

It lasted in my fridge for about three weeks after that tasting, and it got better as it sat in the cold fridge longer. Its uncarbonated, and a single batch lambic, so no worry of infection / further attenuation.

Yea Loon in a bag was a very enjoyable surprise. My sister (who is still in college) demonstrated her skills at getting every last drop out of box wine by making sure we got every drop out of that bag of lambic before I finally let it go.

Very interesting Frank, just assumed it was a little bit older lambic that wouldn't continue to attenuate / change once packaged.

It actually lost most of that off phenolic / baby fart / sulfur smell it had when we tried it fresh that night as it sat longer. At least we got to try it before they put the kibosh on future shipments to the states.

Thanks again for bringing that out, I know everyone except Fear025 / Koolspud greatly appreciated it (they had to deal with Levifunk stinking up their ride which I hear was horrendous)

Wow. You know you might be a beer geek when the mark of a great lambic is when it smells like a baby fart! Personally, I like the lambics that smell like adult farts after a meal laden with a heavy bean component or cabbage that hasn't been soaked and drained.

That's a huge bummer that they're not shipping them the US anymore. I had some big plans for an awful night with a few people when I get home. C'est la vie, I'll just have to go without the heartburn.

That's some master funk. There are some really popular ciders that smell like sow piss, so it could be worse.

Hey, my wife made that scarf for me-- she was trying to model it after the one Bob Dylan wears in my avatar...
Not to sound a bit like you hipsters, but I was wearing scarves before they were cool,

At least its not an ascot.

On another note- being such young lambic it seems that the box would have some seriously active bacteria. Anybody try to culture some for homemade funky brews?

    That was my first though.

    I might have a problem.
