From their facebook page...
Who is going?
Hmmm ... Russian River or Mikkeller bar ...
What does Zwazne day entail? Waiting in line and drinking a specially released beer.
My vote would be for Russian River given the space. Both will be packed with a line. Rather wait on the sidewalk on 4th street than Mason street.
So so so true.
This reasoning says Mikkeller to me. People under the mistaken impression Mason is scary leave more space for me.
I am happy to perpetuate this claim! Last week while slanging three month old Pliny on the corner, waiting for my reup some fools shot at me. I suspect is was Omar.
Beachwood Seal Beach? Man, it's going to get cramped.
Hopefully that's a mistake and the event's really at the Long Beach location.
Hm, to drive to Stone or not...
Was hoping it would have been Toronado
Don't be a sissy.
Don't tell me what to do.
Same day Churchills is having their Sour Fest. Interesting.
I'm wondering if stone is going to do what they did 2 years ago and have you buy some package deal to try it. I remember being annoyed about that back in '11 cause I just wanted to try the damn beer, but with how crowded these things are getting...
I think that was the situation in 2011 as well.
I was super bummed when I realized I'd be out of town on Sept 14 and would miss this event at Stone. Until I realized I would actually be in Brussels for this. What an emotional roller coaster.
Brussels > San Diego
can't wait to be packed in like Sardines at Seal Beach Beachwood!
Hopefully Stone isn't in the middle any construction like last time.
I'm actually a little surprised its not at Liberty Station. I would think they would want to show it off, since its new. Plus it's huge. It's also about half an hour closer to me, which would be quite nice. Lol
This is going to be wonderful.
Nothing better than sweaty beer geeks ass to balls drinking funky beer.
Nuts to butts
Having never been to Zwanze Day, do the bars normally get some other stuff from Cantillon too or is that it?
Yeah. At Toro last yeah I think they had Kriek on tap? Also, bottles of Iris and Vignerrone.
Lou Pepe Kriek '08, and I thought it blew the doors off Zwanze.
And some 375s of Classic Gueuze.
Hopefully it will be like 2011 where it's ticketed but hopefully with much more room.
Fwiw, most all of the on-tap sours, even the more rare Cascades, lasted long into the day @Churchill's last year.
that is what my plan is
Come on Stone put up tickets I need to spend more money on beer this month, LA, the Bruery, and Alesmith have not drained me enough.
Yep, that sounds like a plan to me too.
I asked on fb and was told they were still ironing out the details but would release some info soon. Of course that was a little more than a week ago.
Probably trying to nail down kegs of taras bulba before they announce the details
Any word on exactly what Zwanze is this year? Can't find anything.
It's a lambic Belgian Tripel.
Anyone have any info on this? Can't find anything on the Stone website or anywhere else online, just the BPT from the last time they hosted. Less than a month out I figured they would have posted something.
Not sure, but I'm going to have a panic attack pretty soon if they don't announce the details.
Hopefully stone will announce some details soon now that the anniversary festivities are over.
Any of the other locations announce details?
Info: The event will be ticketed and I have set the time from 9-11am to accomodate those who would like to go to Churchills sour fest which starts at 11am. 3 beers, commemorative glass and one food item included in the price. Limited to 150 people. Should go up on our website by end of week.
150 people? Can an event be classified as a "whale?"
