yes i use all those spellings on purpose through that explanation so all searches of all spellings will go to the post with the best answer. many people use many methods to refer to 077xx, i am ok with all of them

Speaking of collabs, I thought a cool OH collab would be to make Odub at OH and call it 112xx, like how they did a riff of All Green Everything at Carton. This reminds me that I have way too much time on my hands.

 

I just wanted to point out two random things: Still have a can of AOE and it's just... waiting.

And I still hear people call O'Dub... 007. It makes me sad.

First, I agree about the James Bond beer.

Second, I have two cans of AOE in my fridge. Almost opened one last week. Will open this week and report back. Been very interested to see what happens to this beer with a little age.

 

that's how it became "dub." people asking for a "double O seven" in the tasting room, we started just saying back "0 double seven, got it" which became "0'dub" and "dub" if people asked why we just say "where you from" if they say "around here" we say "what's your zipcode"and it usually clicks with them. if they say something far a way we say "all the zipcodes around here or "oh seven seven something something"
we refer to the dubviants as their last 2 digits. so "five Oh" "oh six" "oh two" seven one" and so on

 

While were on the subject of pronunciation and nicknames - how do you pronounce IDIPA/what do you refer to it as at the brewery?

I overheard some patrons at the brewery refer to it as eye-Dipa. I know that's basically ignoring the Freud element.

I call it Id but hear both all the time

 

ok so its one word "ID-eepa" one word "A-go-eepa" and two words "super A-go-eepa"

and for the record epitome is "ep-ih-TOME" as much like cookie monster metal as possible

the last page or so of this thread has convinced me that Carton needs to brew a beer called O'dubipus Complex

 

The releases in 2017 by Carton have been insane. And only 11 days in. Good things to come this year

 

Curious to what the Superego will taste like. I looooove the dank taste of ID, but EGO didn't quite do it for me. It was good, but I thought it was a bit sweet and heavy. This seems massively over the top, but hopefully in a good way. The 11-12% and over ABV IPAs are sometimes a bit too cloying.
