Rumour has it that BrewDog will no longer be producing any more cask beer.
    Can't say I'm overly surprised.

More than a rumour. IIRC the casks of Growler doing the rounds now are the last casks to be output.

I believed it to be fact but I couldn't substantiate it. Thanks for the follow up Scoops.

Phase-out began early this year. Though I expect the scamps to never say never.

My money is them not doing cask for a while and then doing a triumphant return to cask once they decide that keg craft beer is the new 'mainstream'.

Well done. Sort of (but not entirely) reminds me of a time recently when I had every intention of going to BrewDog Edinburgh but just couldn't release myself from the tractor beam otherwise known as the Bow Bar.

I take it that they(the Casks) won't be missed?

I'll miss them. Edge and Paradox were great beers on cask.

What do we think about Riptide? Worth £3.70?

I reviewed this and found that although it had initial impact there was little follow-up or aftertaste.Nothing like what 8.5% could have bought, I've had fuller and richer stouts at 5% ABV.I passed a second bottle to members of our tasting panel who said more or less the same thing.I notice that Black Haddock (do come back if you are reading this, BH) rated it at 2.28. So there are better stouts which are a lot cheaper.

    This.

I agree though about Edge being an excellent cask beer.

As UK prices for UK bottled beer go, it ain't worth £3.69.
