All the stores near Asbury have said they don't know when it's coming in. BCBS just finally dropped yesterday so who knows.

I was there last night after the post and asked, they said they didn't have any.

Ha, well it seems it really depends on who you talk to at these places because it's obvious some people have no idea what's going on.

Someone at the Wegmans in Hanover/Parsippany told me she hadn't heard of it and doubted they would even get it in (which I highly doubt since a bunch of other Wegmans in the area are getting it) so it's going to be a crapshoot.

I find this is a big issue when these places hide the goods in the back. There have certainly been times I had to ask several people because the initial person I asked told me they didn't have it or never heard of it when I knew for a fact they had it. (not CBS but other beers in the past)

I used to work in a liquor store. We frequently did this to people who we hadnt seen shop there before or didnt have cart/basket/handful of items. We didnt horde it to ourselves but yes we certainly lied to some customers about availability. We'd rather please repeat customers or people buying a decent amount at that time than people who would only come around once or twice a year. Just my two cents, i never take it personally if im in a liquor store i dont frequent and they do this. But yea also good to ask another employee as there is a chance they have no idea what youre talking about. My coworkers were certainly in the dark about 90% of beer items.

So you prefer that they put it all on the shelf so that the first guy through can buy it all?

Bottle King Chatham has bottles on the shelf...$22.99 I think. I only bought one but didn't see anything about limits.

No, it's extremely easy and ultimately proper to put one or two out on display and to say "See associate to purchase" or something along those lines rather hide it in back and blatantly deceive/lie customers like the above post. It's done that way in a ton of retail industries so it's not a new or exotic way of doing business. The above happens way too often and it's a shitty business practice just like making someone purchase additional crap just to buy what they came in the store for.

There are places in NY that have it on draft, so I am pretty sure it is

If you only go there to look for hard to find beers why should they care?

Right. I was told by one place that they stopped posting Carton new arrivals on social media because the whale hunters would come in, buy it, and never buy anything else. Places definitely should not require purchases of anything else to allow someone to ourchase, but if something will sell out anyway, no need to make it easier for people that only want that one item
