Let's see if the new forum is more picture friendly for me....

Since my kids broke my camera a long time ago, this picture is probably 6+ months old.

Your basement looks scary. But your beer does brighten it up a bit. :)

I know this is the wrong place in the forum but I'm just curious if you had to re-upload your picture or if it did it automatically? The reason I ask here is because I know you had the same picture before the whole site down thing.

Looks like with imbedded pictures we may have to take closer-up shots. I see a lot of good ones but can't tell what some of them are..

Thanks! I drink them and share with friends all the time. I've tried the vast majority, so I'm not holding on to them just to have them.

I have moving pictures for my cellar:

This video is long - almost 18 minutes. Fair warning.

What everyone is showing is so organized and showy. Welcome to my basement:

Dont leave me hanging, I know there are others who use the tornado aftermath organization skills. Also, don't let the white spot in the upper right corner of the picture fool you. That is not a light, it is the sun which sometimes resides inside my basement keeping it at a brisk 5,000 degrees Celsius. I'm actually amazed the camera didn't melt while this picture was being taken.

There is a lot of "ageable" stuff in there, but there is a lot of stuff that is probably better sooner rather than later. Btw nice avatar.

that is good, i cleared out my cellar of a lot of this stuff recently with friends and was rewarded I think. Especially the recent eclipes 18 year, it tasted so alive, i am sure that aspect is gonna fade soon. I am still holding on to my guezes though I think sours are always a safer bet form y experiences.

I always wondered where you kept your beer. The sun really improved the Idiot's Drool you sent, it was far better to me then others who didn't keep it in the sun reviewed it at.

How did you adjust the temperature control on that?

  30. MordorMongo

    MordorMongo Jul 19, 2009

I have a Ranco temp controller. This one to be precise : http://www.etcsupply.com/ranco-etc111000000-digital-temperature-controller-p-86.html

Works like a dream. You can see the gray wire coming in on top right (it is a little messy as I was moving stuff around, will properly secure wire again soon), on upper left you can see a white wire which is a thermometer with both high and low temp alarms because I am paranoid.

On far bottom left is a damprid humidity absorber, but have not had any humidity issues at all honestly.

So can that be done to any fridge/freezer? That might make my decision to go that route instead of a dedicated cellar area.

  32. MordorMongo

    MordorMongo Jul 19, 2009

Yes, will work on anything with a plug. If you are not very handy it may be worth it to buy the pre-wired one (or any similar type). There are youtube videos of how to wire it up, and it isn't THAT complicated but in hindsight I would have probably just preferred to pay the difference to have it already done.

figured this was the best way to display them to take a picture - the soccer ball in the cat door is there so the cat didn't decide to come downstairs and cause a domino effect.

    Cheers !
