I'd do one better than save the date.

I'd book a refundable rate in Steven's Point because the hotels are already filling up. Think there's a convention that weekend at the Holiday Inn

I apologize that this question has probably been asked a million times, but how does one tell the year on a black gold? Just traded for what someone represented as a 2017 black gold and I might to confirm it is in fact a 2017. thanks!

Well..A million and one times now. But to answer your question there is no way to tell the difference. The label should look pristine since it hasn't been sitting around but other than that I don't know what to tell you.

There is no difference in 15, 16 or 17 Black Gold labels. Trade with someone you trust. I mark mine with a Sharpie.

Anello and Simon were both funny and insightful. Very good information on the past, present and future of Central Waters.

The dudes doing the podcast however...ugh. During their "breaks" and beer reviews, I cringed each of the 27 times they said to "lay a beer down".

It's not really any surprise that the yearly anniversary party is always the last Saturday in January, which happens to be 1/27/2018 next year. lol

It's always on my birthday weekend, every year.

I mean... yes, there's a chance that it won't always be the case (see DLD 2017) but... the Anni party has been the last Saturday in Jan for as long as I can remember...

It is confirmed to be January 27 next year. I was worried they would do their 20th on Jan 20, so I asked them, and it'll be the 27th.

Opened a couple RBCP bottles this weekend, definitely starting to taste a bit off, but less opinion based is the fact that they were mild gushers.

So, I opened my 2 from the last release. Neither were gushers. The first one was definitely off - had that tart taste to it. The second seemed less so (which seems odd given they're all from the same batch), but still a shell of what I recall about this beer the two times I had it prior. I didn't spend too much time with them since I had other beers up next in the queue...

I'll still plan to buy this year's version, but I try it right away just to reaffirm that those other two were likely bad...

Just opened a RBCP. So sour I dumped after 1 sip. I bought this one at the Maple Stout release along with 1 other bottle. The other bottle was drank shortly after purchase and was delicious according to untappd.

Tried my 2017 RBCP. # on bottom looked like 70130E0012147 although some characters were iffy.

I bought it at CW when I picked up my Maple BBS.

Not fully turned, but definitely not normal. Little bit of a dirt/sour/rotten cherry taste. Poured it out.

So its already been talked to death, and I also have no proof other than my palet. However, opened my first of four 2017 Rye Chocolate Porters. Way off than other years and other similar beers.

This beer has won 2 out of 3 Christmas barrel aged beer taste-offs. Only didn't win last year because I didn't have any. Was really excited to get some more this year to see if we could get it up to 3 wins out of four years.

With this off taste, infected or not, it is not what I or others would expect from this beer.

Hopefully I can luck into more next year and it is back to its old self.

The last two I've opened have been off. I have three more. Thankful that I drank a ton of it before it started to turn. But I agree, this one's headed south.
