Sounds kinda like 2016 Prop which, for my palate, was worst BA beer I've ever had. I'm guessing this one will prob be better.

Differant variants of the base Movembeer are available at Pollyanna, Lemont and Imperial Oak, Willow Springs with a free shuttle between the two.

It is a men's health fundraiser.

Dragon's Milk S'mores Reserve is at most Binnys, but it's in a terrible holiday pack as a bomber with two glasses :pensive:

Same goes for Lagunitas Willetized 2018. Bomber with two equally terrible glasses.

I was beer hunting on my lunch break and went to Binny's in McHenry. So many stouts!
CBS, Darkness, Dragon's Milk Banana Coconut, Lagunitas Willetized, recent Oddside stuff.
Could have been a very expensive trip but I restrained myself.

underestimating beer nerds and assuming a surplus anything will happen is hopeless

This feels like by far the worst version of this season I've seen. BCBS has more variants than ever (and Binny's has a "Gotta buy 'em all!" method of sale), Rev's BA program is absolutely flying, slinging BA cans everywhere and hiring saxophone players, CBS is in plentiful supply, Darkness is apparently a shelf turd, Half Acre is adding variants to Benthic and doing a pre-buy option similar to Big Hugs, and there are a million "mini-FoBaB" events popping up all over the area, seemingly until we all die of alcohol poisoning.

I probably shouldn't complain, but holy shit are my wallet and waistline nervous.

I too have been very confused by this. These things are collectors items right?

Yeah, it has been bad, and I haven't even hit the big $$$ stuff yet. BCBS, Benthic, and the Rev stuff are going to put a huge dent in my wallet. That's at least $500 worth of beer... The waistline... I won't even get into. I'm gonna have to work out every day just to maintain my current round shape...

Edit: And as I say out loud how much money I'm going to spend on beer... it's making me rethink doing the entire BCBS Black Friday thing, and just going to my little shop that I know will have whichever variants I want held for me... The $250 - $300 for the full BCBS lineup is a real kick to the dick.

I bit the bullet and pre-ordered a 4 pack of each of those Solemn Oath stouts that come out tomorrow. So I'll be there to pick those up tomorrow.

I only ordered a single bomber of BA Coconut Goldmund. I have to start deciding what is most important now...

Pro tip - avoid as many of the BA releases from non-established breweries in favor of buying stuff you know will be good. Unless there's something you're super excited about, I've found it's best to just ignore random BA release by random brewery.

This is good for pricing. It's going to have to come down in the future as these guys now are forced to compete with each other unless they choose to have their big stout releases in the summer.

Or more pro, just have it on draft. These stuff should be easily accessible by the big Chicago guys for the foreseeable future. There aren't enough beer nerds to hit each brewery right now.

There's nothing more pro than drinking in the comfort of your own home (or wherever you prefer to drink).

That being said, stout season is the perfect time for chasing heavy, crazy shit on tap.

Huge props to half acre with this benthic presale package! Super impressive to offer this to people who can’t make it to Friday’s release. Really well thought out idea, and reasonable amount of time to pick up your beers.

The very reason I’m skipping Black Friday BCBS line-ups entirely. It’s a win-win: I avoid lines and have the beer on draft, and someone else gets to enjoy those variants I would have purchased wherever they want.

With all the calories from stouts this month I'm going to be having rice cakes and kale for Thanksgiving....
