Interesting. Beer Temple announced no limit in advance so are these indicators that the Chicago market got more this year?

Nice packaging. I'm partial to 12 oz format for these types of beers. Good choice imo.

Have you had it before and liked it? I’ve always enjoyed the BA Speedways that I’ve had.

Here's an odd one: Bulleit Bourbon Barrel Aged Guinness Antwerpen Stout. Brewed in Dublin, barrel aged in Baltimore at the new Guinness location there.

I had no expectations, good or bad, going in. My impression is that it has the cream-forward classic Guinness taste, with plenty of oak & a mild bourbon note.

This is miles away from either your favorite barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout OR the pastry crew...the mouthfeel is great, as it's not the "regular" Guinness but the more sturdy Antwerpen model.

I am pleasantly surprised...it's not the second coming but it's a nice change of pace while still being in-(stout)season.

Available at Binny's, but I haven't seen it anywhere else personally.

Thanks! I saw the press release on this a while ago and was excited to try it. Glad to see it’s out. I will definitely be picking this up.

    What was the format/price?

I got a couple a few weeks ago from a distributor friend of mine. I drank one, and was pleasantly surprised. Pretty solid beer. Format is 4 packs, I believe, but not sure on price as I didn't pay for mine.

How does this thread fall to page 2 during stout season?!

Binny’s LP has been Hop Butcher / BL Test your might (still cold)

    Also dosvidonya and dos rye

Quad barrel baptist has been there for a bit, too.

Tried Mikhail from Stone tonight; available across Chicago. Per their description: "2018 Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels w/Espresso Beans".

Nice chocolate syrup & cream flavors, with hints of oak & bourbon...but in the current Chicago stout scene, this isn't really necessary. Glad I tried it, but I won't buy it again.

Anyone know the difference between Mikhail and Mikhail's Odd? Or are they the same beer with a minor name change somewhere along the line?

Mikhail’s odd was brewed in an odd year, and they added espresso:

Looks like the kept the espresso moving forward?

The Master and Margarita is pretty intense! Talking satan-cat!

Dosvidanya and Dosvidanya rye have hit Binny's around the western/southwestern burbs. Grabbed a rye yesterday. Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, so figured I'd let ya'll know. $16.

I've had regular, but not rye. So I just grabbed the rye as I heard it's delicious.
