Chicago - Western Burbs - New Binnys coming

    For those around the North Riverside area, the old HH Gregg building is going to be a Binny's by Thanksgiving.

    When I lived in NR a couple years ago, I thought, wouldn't it be great if Binny's opened up in North Riverside? There's no place to get good beer around here.... So I moved closer to Oak Brook, now they open one up

    Awesome! 5 minutes from my house. Wife gets a Costco trip I get a binnys trip. Nice to see near west burbs being repped in here too

    By the way, I confirmed this with the beer manager at Binny's today who confirmed it with their regional manager - target opening date is Thanksgiving(ish). Also, he said to expect some special allotments of beer for when the store opens.

    Well shit, now I'm more excited even though it's the 3rd or 4th closest Binny's to me.

    Do we need to make some ground rules for the melee?

    Yep, about time to start paying attention to this. A 15 min drive definitely beats trying to get to one of the locations in the city.

    They did this when Binnys Mokena opened. It was in February 2016 and, for example, they had several cases of Bourbon County with limited amounts of variants.

    The store opened on Friday. Just stopped in today. The beer buyer, Dan, is pretty cool. No word on BCBS allotments, but I did score a 4-pack of Black Note and Zombie Dust was just sitting in the cooler. Supposed to get some BA Ten Fidy later this week.

    Stopped in to the new binnys tonight - man did it smell like a new store ... The beer buyer seems like a cool dude - shot the shit for a while and gave me some good recommendations. Really excited to have it so close to home. That being said, that space is HUGE and it felt like they could fit a lot more shelves in there.

    I appreciate the heads up on the opening. Lots o' room in that place. Dan, the beer buyer, was very enthusiastic about bringing good beer to the area. Grabbed some black note, big bad baptist, the new pipeworks fish beer, and some Backwoods Bastard. Going to be nice to have a Binny's a little closer to home.

    The Oakbrook store is more wine and liquor focused.

    The Downer's Grove store has relocated to the former Golfsmith building just to the south of their former location.The staff is great. The store has a great beer section .The isles are long and the Pick Six rack is inviting . The store is well lit and has beer 'posters" along the walls making the beer section easy to find.
