Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

No line before sales started. Any line that formed was less than 12 ppl waiting to pay. Went smooth, sold out in 90mins, with a 4 x 4pk max.

One thing I wanted to let everyone know.

I found out that my date coder was not compatible with the new can labels. So, this batch is NOT date coded. Know that it was all canned on 7/14/17. Spread the word.

Next round of Snoochie cans should be good to go with dates on them, schedule to be packaged on 8/3...release day/time TBD.

Have you announced a limit on Radio Swan? TIA.

 

Any word if this is can only? I won't be able to get out there tonight, was hoping to pop in tomorrow for a pour and a crowler if it'll be on tap as I'm sure cans will be long gone.

Likely lost in the haze, but being a fan of wild spaces myself, kudos to Forbidden Root for donating profits on (non-consumable) merch to benefit the Forest Preserve (LaBagh Woods).

 

Radio Swan was awesome last time around. For me, it was right up there with Snoochie Boochies and Stay Lit. Looking forward to a smooth release tonight and having a few pours on tap.

 

No growlers tonight.

We will have a 1/2bbl of RS on tap @7pm.

Another batch of RS should be on draft/growler this Friday.

Although @edbeerd has become our hot-take king, I don't think they really belong in this thread.

By their own admission they are not making true "NE" style IPA's & have stopped marketing them as such.

 

Just to clarify, are FR and Corridor going head to head on releases today?

 

Snoochie cans did make it out to the burbs - as The Beer Cellar got a shipment in. I'm not sure if it will be the same this time, just a heads up if people are waiting for distro and think it's only in the city.

Shouldn't we start separate threads for Forbidden Root, Hop Butcher (even if they don't belong here, they certainly have a following), and Corridor? We already have that for Mikerphone and Noon Whistle.

This thread seems like it's too jumbled now...it was a great place to start at first when it was pretty much just Mikerphone and a few other random beers, but now we've got a bunch of them - why not just use individual brewer threads, similar to what is done for many other places?

 

This definitely complicates my evening...Wasn't ready to pick a side.

 

I definitely agree for Forbidden Root because they also have many beers that are topic worthy, but don't fall in this category.

I get off work at 9, so chances of me grabbing some at the release are slim to none. Hoping my Binny's gets some!
