Okay, it's pretty damn good. It's not my absolute favorite hop combo, but it's got a great balance to it; just enough sweet to make it interesting, but not so much that it falls into the actual "sweet" category (Edith I don't like). It seems like Hubbard's is really dialing it in, so all we need now is a format change!

I’m new to NE IPA’s...has Squishy Gummy last night and it blew me away. What a wonderful beer. I’d had a few others previously like Mikerphone’s Juicy Hits which was not for me.

I’ll be reading through this to see what else is similar.

Agreed on the format change. I got a V9 and will pick up a V10 but there's been some really amazing NEIPA's thrown out locally in cans in the recent weeks that I'm feeling less and less incline to buy Mikerphone/Hubbards format. They either need a pricing change or put some money up to get into the 12oz/16oz formats. There's a lot of beer drinkers that seem to despise the large bottles.

I’d really like to see Hubbard’s Cave in cans (12 or 16oz), but where they brew now is so tiny, I don’t think they can make it happen from a space limitation point of view.

They have the ability... I assume these were sealed with their Crowler machine. Maybe corridor does the same thing? A lot more labor intensive though... they fill/seal/wipe each can individually.

Ok, ok I got one. I’ll pour one out for my “not buying beer” streak that was born on Tuesday and died a predictable death on Saturday morning

I'm not getting the love for Squishy Gummy. Am I the only one that thinks it's actually pretty horrible? I feel like there is something very bad/off in the finish, almost like a weird malty taste. Not into it at all. First Gummy Banter and now this one, I think I'm just not a fan of what Noon Whistle is doing with these.

its funny i had green julius and decorah sue the other day, and really preferred sue. same general hop saturated / london ale yeast flavor across the board but the sue was less harsh on the throat. ooopps

Totally agree on both parts, canning either requires a huge upfront expense or bringing in a mobile canner so I get it from that front. On the flip side, I know a lot of people here and in life outside of here that have all but moved away from the large bottle format since there are so many great offerings now in 12/16 oz variety. I'm very close to that with at least my ipas In a dream world everybody would be doing cans with the 360 lids that Noon Whistle is putting out there. At some point not getting on the can bandwagon is gonna hurt some of these places....

I get that same off flavor in the finish. Same flavor I get in the 2nd Shift beers I’ve tried.

Yeah, I've mostly given up on Miker and Hubbard's because of the 750s. That format is something I'm only willing to put up with in BA stouts. I'm not blaming them since I know canning is a huge investment, but I'd at least consider 4 packs like some of these guys do.

While not great lakes forum, narrow gauge in Floorisant (north burb of stl) seems to have all their beers dialed in and are cans are easy to come by at the brew pub

Recently had one of their IPA's for the first time (DDH OJ Run) and was blown away. I can't wait to try another one from them...

I’ve stopped at alarmist a few times in the last month or so, had a beer and grabbed a crowler to go. Their NEIPA styles are pretty tasty and they usually have more than 1 NEIPA on tap at anytime. Le Jus was a great offering from them however I thought Big Muff fell short. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by.

V10 is one of the better beers I have ever tasted. I personally have never been let down by the V series and they are usually only $9.99. Anyone still see it on a shelf in the suburbs? Schaumburg Binny's ran out.
