Tons of great local NE ipas at the Binny's event last night. Corridor Highway to Haze, More Mosaic Dusty, Old Irving Trendii were the standouts. Also enjoyed Saint Errant Fuzzy Britches, Noon Whistle Gummy Vortex, and Prairie Krafts Paper Wings. All around great event for $5.

Do you follow Binny’s on social media? I know there were posts on both IG and FB about it. I was anti-FB for years, but I finally broke down last year, solely because of wanting to get beer updates. I’m not sure I should be proud of that.

Twitter was originally my sports fix, and still is, but morphed into beer as well. IG and FB are much better now for beer updates than Twitter IMO. Lots of tappings and special events can be found on FB, and IG usually has info on newest beer releases by certain breweries. In short, I use them all to optimize my beer experience!

Sorry, to be clear--I mostly started on Twitter for a few places (like Binny's...R.I.P. their Twitter teams), but yeah, I use IG and FB a lot for both; I just already had those accounts for non-alcoholic reasons.

The pineapple presence is exactly what was memorable about B1 for me also. I remember the guys at the beer cellar were letting customers taste it as they came in and it was of those "damn, is there a limit?" moments.

Pretty sure Oak Trail Spirits in Mundelein still has bottles from 2016.
Pointed it out to the guy and his reply was "yeah its fine, people buy them and don't complain" and thats why I don't go there anymore

Agree - I think the format is just better on IG, and a higher percentage of breweries seem to use IG/FB.

This is literally the only reason I'm on IG. I don't follow any of my friends, that's facebook for me. It's kind of funny, a few people that I know started following me and if they pay attention they realize I don't post and only see a like for "this beer is being released tomorrow" type posts.

For what it's worth, Old Irving is starting to dial in their signature NE series (Trendii). I was there yesterday, and it's a pretty tasty beer. They had a collab with Miskatonic on as well that sounded like it had potential (I didn't try it because I had to have one of their tasty stouts as well).

I'd actually been wondering about them...are they selling cans/bottles of their IPA's to go, or is it all growler?

I was in Madison this weekend. Picked up a couple Brewing Projekt beers, Dare Mighty Things and DMT-Citra, those are great beers. It's not Chicagoland obviously - I believe they don't distribute southeast of Madison yet, but those might be some worthwhile NE IPAs to pickup if you're ever in Wisconsin past the Milwaukee area.
