Was curious on everyone's opinion on this upcoming Clown Shoes brew?

The original was way too smokey for me. I wish they had done this with Vampire Slayer but I'll still try it.

I was thinking the same thing that Vampire Slayer would have been the better beer to try bacon on but I'll still try it.

Bacon beer sounded so good until Rogue fucked up the idea. Now all I think about is the pink bottle of undrinkability.

As I told my friend Paul "Bacon makes everything better with the exception being Rogue - Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale. That pink bottle haunts me to this day."

It's shallow, but I have a hard time really taking any of their beers seriously based on name alone.

I've never had one of their beers for the same exact reason, stupid as that is.

Does Clown Shoes have a different connotation in the South vs the North? Because "It's fucking clown's shoes!" to me means mediocre and silly.

I have had several of their beers. Still have a hard time taking anything they make seriously. Like Lutter said above, they are just mediocre and silly. For some reason that sells.

Some of their stuff is pretty mediocre, but I bought 2 bottles of Vampire Slayer, and wish I had more. That stuff is good, especially at the price point. Try it if you have a chance.

The guy running it is a goofball. Some pretty decent brews but nothing that will compete with the likes of Firestone walker, founders, or goose island. Still they make some beers that are fairly decent to drink. Well above anything I've had from brewers like Sam Adams, magic hat, full sail, etc...

Even if the marketing is garbage I'll still try their beers before trying some of the other brewers that I know will generally just have mediocre brews. At least clown shoes can make A- or B+ beers.

I lost even more respect through some googling... they contract brew through another brewery. That's clown shoes!

Ill take Boston Lager, Alpine Spring, Noble Pils, and a bunch of other Sam Adams over anything I have had from these clowns. To each there own I guess.

I seldom buy Clown Shoes because I don't care at all for their marketing and I'd prefer not to encourage potential copycats, but I'm not boycotting them and I'd definitely give something unusual like this a try. I did enjoy the regular Blaecorn Unidragon.

So I guess you don't respect anything by Mikkeler or Pretty Things either?

But I'll bet the majority of you guys buy Dogfish. Golden Shower. Really -
Clownshoes labels are well done and clever.
Some people just have zero sense of humor and take themselves and beer way too seriously.
