Just came across this on Facebook:

    https://www.facebook.com/events/445287458886342/

There haven't been any kinds of updates since word late last year that Clown Shoes was headed this way at some point this year. I guess that's our update.

I'm excited about Clown Shoes, but I have to say no matter where I go that has it while I'm traveling, the bottles are always really, really old. Okay for Vampire Slayer and Blaecorn Unidragon under the right conditions, not so okay for like every other beer they make, which are all hop-forward. Fair warning to all when it hits shelves to check the bottle date (lower left of label). If we do start out with fresh stock, let's all do our part in Colorado and buy a bunch so I can always get it fresh. kthxbye

so many breweries I'd rather have come to CO. I traded for quite a bit of their stuff when I first started traded, haven't done that since...

Here's info about the Hops and Pie event for those that can't get on Facebook, but can get on BA at work (like me)

April 6th, Hops & Pie welcomes Clown Shoes Beer from Ipswich, Massachusetts and a big selection of their beers that just got released to Colorado. This will be one of your first chances to sample 6 different Clown Shoes beers in one place. Hop lovers take note! Selections include: Miracle IPA (5.5% ABV), Supa Hero IPA (8% ABV), Hoppy Feet Black IPA (7% ABV), Vampire Slayer Smoked Imperial Stout (11% ABV), Clementine White Ale (6% ABV), and Tramp Stamp Belgian IPA (7% ABV).

Nice, like their Hoppy Feet and a few others, want to try the Supa Hero! Very reasonably priced beer.

Or if you have local computer admin rights, change your network adapter's DNS. (OpenDNS or Google)

Setup a Citrix farm at home and use a reverse proxy server as a gateway to your domain. I totally made that up.

I've tried to like Clown Shoes stuff but just can't do it. Me thinks they will not do well out here, too many great beers here already. If you are gonna distribute here you gotta be better than mediocre.

I agree. Everything I've had of theirs has been overrated. I don't see myself picking up any of their stuff. As it's already been said, there's too many other better beers here.

I have admin right, but our filter somehow trumps DNS settings. Plan B was the VPN and it works pretty well, though I turn it on and off as needed to reduce the load on my home network.

And now, back on topic. I like beer.

Same goes for Magic Hat, Northern Lights (No-Li), Goose Island (still waiting for BCBS/vintage sours linup), etc.

I am happy to have Goose Island and their Sofie on my local shelves. Still haven't gotten around to Matilda, Jaques Pere, or Pepe Nero, but have high hopes for them. Especially Matilda.

I do agree with you about Magic Hat and No-Li though. Never tried Clown Shoes stuff to comment on, but seeing that they are from Ipswich, MA....I just wish it was Ipswich Brewery instead, as Ipswich Oatmeal Stout would be a staple in my fridge if that made it into our fine state.

Well we've had those technically before Goose Island expanded their distribution here, I was mostly referring to their flagship beers they brought in to compete. I do like Sofie & Matilda, great summer City Park Jazz beers.

We've seen several larger brewers come and go over the years. I'm curious if we'll start to see more exiting our market if they don't see immediate success. I assume Goose Island is probably entrenched since they're brewing up in Ft. Collins and I think enough people know Magic Hat #9 since it's so popular on the east coast. I'm not so sure about some of the others that seem have languished, though.
I'd trade 95% of the Eastern/Midwestern stuff we do get for Bells, 3F, Founder's, and Brooklyn anyway.

    Gotcha.

Thought I had remembered seeing them around prior, but never actually tried them until the recent expansion. I still haven't tried any of the flagships.

I welcome more breweries into our market, who doesn't like more variety? I'd also prefer to drink beer from Clown Shoes then some of the shitty beer being brewed in Denver. Their beer is pretty solid.

Goose Island affect is in their future. I ordered several of their 6pks when they first started distributing here and they're just wasting my precious shelf space.. I could be wrong but only time will tell. I'll try carrying any beer once in the store I currently work at but usually it can't rival more widely known breweries sold in Colorado.
