So I'm coming to the Sacramento/Davis area unexpectedly for work. I'll actually be there for a vast majority of the next two months. Anyone want to set up an IP trade, or more importantly show a friendless Floridian the ropes in the area? I'll have a rental car so some flexibility but I'll be working Monday through Thursday night each week.

I've landed already, and this first week is going to be a bit crazy as I'm trying to find a place to sub-let for 2 months in either Sacramento or Davis. I'll usually be fairly free on the weekends and sometimes during the day on weekdays. I work Monday through Thursday in the evenings. Shoot me a BM, thanks!

Check "the graduate" out in Davis. Good beer selection and happy hour 4-8 mon-fri 4$ pints. Also the beer shoppe is in David and has a good selection as well

Yup. If you're working in Davis (which I'm assuming is probably true, if not I dunno why you'd be considering renting there), you'll want to check out:

Davis Beer Shoppe: small tap room and bottle shop with excellent selection and good prices for drafts.

Sudwerk: local brewery, specializes in German lagers, nice beer garden out back

The Graduate: large selection of good beer on tap, almost always have Pliny, college bar/grill type place

The Davis Food Co-op and (Covell) Nugget: local grocery stores with excellent beer selections

Aggie Liquor: small liquor store, not cheap, but has Pliny in stock more often than anywhere else in the area that I'm aware of.

Several interesting breweries (Rubicon, Track 7) and taprooms (Pangea, River Rock) in Sac as well. And you're fairly well situated to make day trips to Sierra Nevada, Russian River, Lagunitas, and everything in the Bay Area (Beer Revolution, City Beer, Drake's, etc etc).

So I think I'll end up doing almost everything on this list  I will be here until the first week in June so I'll have plenty of time. It looks like my company might just be putting me up at the Extended Stay off of 80 here in Sacramento, I just like the feel of a small college town like Davis. I will be there two nights a week to work though so I'll still take advantage of all of that stuff.

Thanks again everyone for the help!

If you make it out to Boneshaker in Rocklin or Sam Horne's in Folsom, send me an email. I may be able to meet up with ya.
