Coming to Scottsdale for the first time in Sep, what are the MUST DO places?

    I did a thread like this before I visited Philly last month. It worked so well I thought I would try again with my upcoming Scottsdale, AZ trip scheduled for September 7-18. Won't have a lot of free time but what do you guys recommend as far as places/beers for a craft beer/Irish pub kind of guy? Am a Combat Medic and will be attending a hospital training rotation.

    All opinions welcome boys and girls.

    Scottsdale is a big area. But for Irish pubs with craft beer there is the Skeptical Chymist, it has Irish food with a mixture of southwestern items. Fate Brewing has some great brews and a decent pizza and a limited number of guest beers. Papago Brewing has great brews with 30 taps and is a great bottle shop with good pizza. Four Peaks in Scottsdale has some great burgers and their rock solid beers that are made in Tempe. OHSO just opened a new place that is going to be a craft distillery that is worth checking out, their food is hit or miss. Whole Foods in Scottsdale may lack in atmosphere and have grocery store hours but the food and beer selection is vast.

    Thanks big belcher. A bit of driving doesn't bother me. My daily comute is an hour each way. Will take a look at your suggestions online.

    Hoping to enjoy some Celtic live music while I am there. Our pub selections in Mississippi are thin to say the least.

    Am building my own Irish mini-pub; 300 sq ft interior, 250 sg ft exterior. If anyone has a hook up in the area for some bar swag for a soon to be retired military guy please let me know. Anything Irish or craft beer is great.

    If you are into the Irish thing I'd add Rula Bula in Tempe to the list. Saturdays they have live Irish music.

    Breweries to try is Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. and SanTan down in Gilbert and Chandler.
