Commons 2nd Anniversary 12/12 and 12/13

    Hi Everyone,

    We opened up 2 years ago today and we plan on celebrating with 2 events this week. The past year has been big for The Commons: 2 GABF Medals, Urban Farmhouse was named Willamette Week's Beer of the Year, two 30bbl fermentors were installed, a new bottling line and there's even been a few great beers that have made it through the pipeline. We hope to see everyone that has continued to support our humble little brewery.

    December 12, 5pm-9pm
    Bottle Share & Potluck
    You know the deal. Bring a bottle of a special beer or a side dish to share with everyone.

    December 13, 5pm-close
    2nd Anniversary Celebration
    We'll have a small spread of food and will tap a collection of our favorites as well as some special kegs we've been saving for this event. Here's the draft list so far:

    Sounds awesome, I have a friend coming into town over those two days and this sounds like the perfect event to attend.

    Are there any special bottles on sale during these events?

    Unfortunately we'll have our current lineup available:

    There might be a touch of Maybelle left. I can set two aside if you give me your friends name.

    We're also a few weeks out from Bourbon Little Brother (Belgian Dark strong) being ready. It's tasting really great this year.

    I'll be there.

    Don't want to get all sentimental, but last year's Commons anniversary bottleshare was my first (bottleshare, that is). It was a fantastic time with a lot of generous people and delicious beer (There was some meatballs there, too. They were tasty, as well).

    I'm sure this years event will not disappoint.

    Everything will be priced by individual taster glasses and full pours, expect most tasters to be $2-3 and full pours to be $4-5.

    I haven't been to this previously, and unfortunately can't be in PDX this Thursday or Friday either. However, I may be in town on Saturday, and from past experience, was wondering what one can expect in terms of left overs from this event.

    A change in scheduling has my girlfriend, myself, and a good friend of mine there tomorrow around 6ish for the bottle share. We are bringing some 4 day old Lawson's bottles. Excited to see/meet everyone.

    That was a terrific event last night, with friendly people sharing some very nice bottles. I met a few BAs whose names I recognized from the Northwest forum (glad you enjoyed the BA Abraxas, w_klon!). To the gent who brought the Hill Farmstead Biere de Norma: THANK YOU! That's a beer I thought I'd never get the chance to try.

    You're welcome on the Norma! I've been wanting to open that sucker for a long time now. Now I just need to figure out something else cool to bring today!
