I am 28 and I find a lot of the macro stuff is good at a starting point , but eventually you just get border of it, so I explored different beers, some good, some bad, like Molson Canadian even though everyone expects people from Canada to drink it, a lot of people don't like it. I was more self taught to drink microbrews. My dad more likes drinking the cheap stuff and I don't think I would change his beer selections, though sometimes when cross border shopping I will get Leinenkugels, Coors Original, Rolling Rock or Yuengling but Canadian Rolling rock, just seems a bit more nutty vs the stuff at Latrobe and it comes in cans vs bottles...

My daughter is 26, my son is 28. They grew up with alcohol in the house-drinking watered down wine with my inlaws in France at a very early age. She is a total craft beer fan and has been since she was a teenager drinking my homebrew, and my son is slowly getting into craft beer-he skipped the shit beer phase completely.

My dad is 100% responsible for my craft brew habit. He still hits me with a nice bomber or two every time I visit. I'm not sure my wife will ever fully forgive him.

Thank god I didn't take after my folks' drinking habits (a lot of Early Times, plasic-bottle vodka and box-wine). It's a miracle I love awesome beer. I've also converted most of my 7 brothers and sisters to better beer-drinking ways. When my kids are old enough to sneak my beer, at least it won't be rot-gut!

my son is now into following and consuming craft beer more than I. Simply from observing and having the openness to try new things. I didnt have to do much. He figured it out.

My daughters do the same since they were able to semi-say cheers. It's not very frequent but they do it every now and again. When we go to Bavarian Lodge the chant is "Sauerkraut and Beer!" over and over.
I have often thought with the craft beer boom the past 10 or whatever years, how it would affect my kids in 12-15 years when they are in college. In college I think primarily kids will drink anything and everything, and mostly what's cheap, but maybe like some have stated they will drink the good stuff as more of a "pre-game" and drink swill at keggers?

Im currently 21 and ive been drinking craft beers since I was 17. My palate developed early i guess. Thats not to say i didnt drink my body weight in macros every month though. My father drank nothing but BMC until i came home one night a few years ago with a Burning River. At first he laughed at me because he never had tried craft beers before and because the fact i was 17 trying to convince my father about "good beer". After he tried it he loved it. Since then he has tried every single beer ive come home with and he even goes out with his friends now and tries new beers at bars. He used to get mad when I stole his bud lights.. Now he gets pissed when theres no SN Pale Ale in the fridge. Who said young kids cant give good advice?

We bought my daughter (now 4 months) a crate of Westvleteren 12, a few bottles of SNR'10 and I'm ordering a bunch of regular SN'12. The way I see it, if my attempt to get her to drink good beer fails, I will have success in my Plan B (Plan B is for my wife and I to drink it all ourselves). We also bought a Tiny Pliny shirt.

I actually got my dad into craft beer. It was really cool for a while when he was muling me stuff, but now it sucks because he always brings back 2 cases of Zombie Dust for himself when he cruises through Chicagoland. I don't even get a phone call.

I let my son know that I drink quality craft beer, not BMC. He likes to toast with his cup. He will spend his formative years watching his old man drink good stuff. I hope it has some influence and we can enjoy a beer together when he is of age.
