    ABOUT THE BEER:

We've gone big with our Beatitude Tart Saison in the name of charity, brewing an imperial edition of our Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus-stoked flagship sour ale for Beer to the Rescue (@BeerToTheRescue), a charity benefiting the Lupus Foundation of Southern California. French oak and sumptuous, freshly harvested organic nectarines and peaches from Masumoto Family Farms bring nuances of creamy, tangy cheese and stone fruit preserves that marry beautifully with spiciness from Belgian yeast. Enjoy this complexly delicious beer knowing a portion of proceeds will improve quality of life for sufferers of lupus, a chronic auto-immune disease affecting one-in-forty-five people throughout Southern California.

This is a limited release of 1700 bottles. Limit (4) bottles per person.

    BOTTLE PURCHASE DETAILS:
Beginning on September 14th, 2015 at 12:00 PM, you will be able to purchase up to (4) 750 ml bottles of Imperial Beatitude.

After the initial bottle releases, that imho were definitely inferior than the Beatitudes I had on tap, I grabbed a couple bottles from this release. Crossing fingers for being worth it

unfortunately had to skip this one. Cuddlebug and Beatitude vaca made me over budget for beer. :slight_frown:

Definitely excited about this one. Unfortunately won't be able to make the party, but picked up my 4 bottles anyways.

Where did you get that from? I want a refund!

Jk....but on BPT I only saw this part:

"French oak and sumptuous, freshly harvested organic nectarines and peaches from Masumoto Family Farms bring nuances of creamy, tangy cheese and stone fruit preserves that marry beautifully with spiciness from Belgian yeast."

Yeah, I usually don't associate "cheesy" notes with sour beers that I love (even/especially some of those Mission Impechable bottles that went off the rails a bit and turned Parmesan bombs), but I'm hoping they're talking about a lactic, yogurty component that they're just describing in a strange way.

Got dat Masumoto good shit, tho.... Maxed.

I think the rep is finally starting to catch up with them on how meh their past bottles have been. I'm in it for the Masumoto fix.

I'm hoping that "creamy, tangy cheese" is more in a goat cheese direction - which works in some sour beers - rather than the terribly overwhelming blue cheese character from the bad batch of Chex Monieux. Kind of concerned but I didn't see it until after I ordered, so...we'll see I guess.

I think that your hope is probably right. I doubt Jeff realizes just how much bad connotation comes from using "cheese" in the description. LOL

Oh man, the 4-5 star checkins on untapped when Alpine put Chez Monieux on tap to celebrate opening the new location. Those were painful to read. "Smells and tastes like bad bleu cheese <4.5 stars>"

    It's definitely a good read.

"Def smells like vomit, got a butthole after taste". You would think 0.5-1 star? Naaaah.....3.5

    Another one:

"2005 bottle. So much baby vomit and cheese though, I'm afraid. Taste isn't as bad, but intense nonetheless"..... 5.0

I had it myself at the new pub and didn't get any blue cheese flavors honestly. It was an ok beer. No good qualities, but I was able to finish it with no issues. Reminded me of cheap, Polish red wine we used to drink.

Never had it from the bottle, but I tried it on tap a few months ago. It was one of the worst beers I ever had.

Did that beer not turn out good in bottles? Ratings on Untappd look promising... Or is this more a commentary on your hopes for Deadlock?

Imp Beat is damn delicious but maybe like dcbullet, I was looking forward to deadlock more. I prefer berries compared to stone fruits.

I've opened two bottles and both were great, better base beer than their normal Beatitude and the fruit character is excellent. Not sure what dcbullet's intent was but I've yet to hear negative feedback about Imperial Beatitude.

Considering that beer was brewed for charity, it's better that it didn't happen to Imp Beat.

Especially if any proceeds of the sales went to the charity.

They emailed out to everyone that purchased it that it did not carb up to their expectations (i.e. they withheld the bottles due to lack of carb and after almost a month..still nothing). So instead of letting a product go that they felt didn't meet their standards they pulled it and are issuing refunds.

they also mentioned they will keep checking it and if it becomes carbed to their liking they wont re-sell them, but instead make them available in the tasting room at a future date.
