Anyone going to this event Saturday? Craft Writing: Beer, The Digital, & Craft Culture I'll be driving down from Columbus but can only stay for the day, so I'm leaving around 5 once it's done (though if the free dinner looks decent I might stay for that). I mainly wanted to make people aware of the opportunity to hear from some big names in the industry. While I won't be able to attend the ancillary events myself, it appears there are meet & greets/book signings going on at Country Boy Friday night and Saturday at The Beer Trappe after the symposium. If anyone would care to meet up during the lunch break or something let me know. I'd prefer to avoid leaving the University area and possibly lose my parking. I might bring a case of Columbus IPA down if anyone would want to swap something local. I just learned about this Monday or I'd be bringing some others down with me and making a weekend of it. I hope this is enough warning for a few others to get in on the free symposium.
Yeah. Sorry to anyone confused by the date, not sure what happened there. Had a great time, still processing my thoughts to present to my co-workers tomorrow.
That symposium was an incredible event. It make Lexington look like the craft beer "place to be" at least for the weekend. All of the breweries and beer bars rolled out the red carpet for visitors and presenters alike. I met so many great folks. I'm sorry if I met any of you and didn't give the time or conversation that I know we deserved. We've got to pressure DrFabulous and the University of Kentucky into making this an annual event!
