Personally, I think Batch 1 developed into something special, but it wasn't the all-star it came to be right away. I can imagine someone drinking it early actually being disappointed. However it peaked right around when they opened the Denver barrel cellar and they were shockingly still selling bottles of it for a little while.

Ditto with some of those early WWB releases. They were okay when they first hit, but I don't know if any of them really hit stride (other than Green) until a bit later. I thought Red was genuinely not good on day 1...but when they served it on ROYGBIV day it was magic. Yellow and Violet were my faves of those.

Since those days I think the highlights have been the original Persica, Brett D'or, and the fruited Origins items from last Fall. Batch 60 reminded me a lot of WWBG, but it has fallen on hard times with age. I'm not sure I'd buy that one off the shelf right now, although I guess it could end up making another 180 with some time.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this were the case.

Yeah, it wouldn't shock me either. The one caveat is that the hops disappeared pretty quickly. Definitely moreso than (very roughly) similar beers like WWBG, Le Terroir, and Red Swingline. Whatever it turns into definitely won't be much like the initial release.

Indigo was great right off the shelf.

I had a purchase cancelled from this past Monday and I'm not sure why. Did this happen to anybody else?

Was that your first allocation or the 2nd for the two fruited Origins? If it was the 2nd then I can see why since the sale didn't start until Tuesday. If it was the first then I would just call them and ask.

But to answer your question, no it didn't happen to me.

This reminds me... persica batch#2 doesn't taste anything like it did at initial release. I'm glad I hung onto these bottles.

Was it cancelled or did it simply "fall off" from your online credit card statement? If it's the latter, that's happened to myself several times, but it always works out.

That sucks especially since they are still for sale.

Did your wife call up and deny the charge?

Pro-tip: Have a separate credit card the wife doesn't know about for beer purchases.

Same with blend 1. 6 months has been magic on that bottle.

My Trustee just moved to NYC last week. I'll send shippers/FedEx labels. I'd ordered extra bottles for them as thanks. I could do that or send Austin area thank you boxes. BM me

I'll be at the bottle share with a BA17. Didn't have much room in my luggage to bring anything else.

Trusteeing for someone, they RSVPd for me on Sat - Just wondering if there's a timing to it, or can you come whenever they're open? Bringing some Blackberry Origins and L'Brett Grand Cru to the bottle trade. I kid, I kid....

And no growler fills this year. No big surprise, I guess.
