What does it take to land Persica or Batch 1?

Persica was extremely limited, reserve society members only, and they only got one bottle each. I saw someone offering Fou Foune for one recently, so likely something in that range. I also know of a local who was offering Persica for Genealogy of Morals.

Batch 1 was available to public for a week or so around GABF, so it should be more available, and possibly from people that are not in CO.

Yeah, I think it might take something of that caliber. You could try to wait until the next batch is released, but I'm pretty sure members will still only get one bottle in 2013. I signed up this time but I won't be looking to trade mine if I only get one.

I just missed out on Batch 1 too, thinking I had plenty of time to get over to the taproom.

I landed a Batch 1 with a Cisco sour. It was part of a larger trade.

Actually members could buy more than one bottle of Persica, up to three (including the one that came with the membership)- if you were quick. They only made 430 bottles available in total.

To put it into perspective though, I tried to trade a bottle for something around the caliber of Veritas 10 or Peche n' Brett- and I got crickets.

I think there were only 161 members last year so their isnt a large pool. I got two bottles, drank the first one with my wife and one of her friends not expecting much from it, then brought the second bottle to a whale slaying. I asked the brewer several times to no avail about buying more. It was easily one of the top 5 beers I had from last year.

It's out there but it will take the right guy seeing the right iso at the right time. Best of luck

Were these 750ml bottles or 375ml? Just wondering before I go searching. Thanks in advance.

No, they were able to buy up to three: One came with membership, then every member got the option to buy a second, and what was leftover was offered one per member as supplies lasted.

Believe me, I've seen enough fb brag pics to know that several CR members bought three bottles.

Persica was 750mL, everything up to the last release(sentinence, oculus, and chardonnay Surette) were 750mL. The story going forward is all 375mL.

Chad is freaking do it and the best part of it is he is just getting started. This is year one, I cant wait to see what year 5 or 10 brings. Great time to live in Denver!

I was able to trade for a batch 1 pretty easy when it came out, now people seem to want the whales for it...
