Stumbled upon a bottle of Curieux last night in the back corner of a gas station in Calais Maine.

Batch was from 2011 and priced at $16.29.

I may have fallen in to the "he who hesitates is without beer" category but I had to research if $17 for a bomber is a good thing.

I think it's closer to $18+ in the Boston area. I usually do my Curieux drinking from the tap though, as it almost always comparable price-wise to buying a bottle in a package store

its usually in the $15-16 range here in southern maine, so for being found in a gas station in far downeast maine, i think you should feel fine about spending $17. i had my last 2011 last month. i say drink it up while there is still some barrel presence (if you haven't already), as its obviously fading with time. i prefer this beer as fresh as possible, but if you prefer the bourbon backed-down a bit, you shouldn't be disappointed.

That price is about right. I've seen it as high as 18-20 (ridiculous BTW)

My local supermarket had it mis-priced at $9 for the longest time... Grabbed quite a few... Now it's $16, which is waaay overpriced.... Oh well...

    Prosit!

You guys think it's overpriced? What do high abv C&C 750s of bourbon barrel aged beer usually go for?

I realize you're a lot closer to Allagash than I am, but if I saw Curieux for $16 a bottle I'd probably buy the shelf.

That price is on par with the rest of Maine and NH. You definitely didn't get screwed and I'm sure a 2011 is drinking just fine.
