Road tripping from Chicago to Vermont the last week of April. Will be my first time stopping at HF and I've been checking to see what's on tap recently. I see that Society and Solitude #4 was just tapped...any chance it lasts a few weeks?

Also, any general tips or recommendations for growler transporting? We will be visiting HF last then heading right home. Plan on bringing 5 growlers or so back.

It was my first trip to the brewery this past Saturday. Absolutley amazing time. Loaded up on $160 worth of growlers and cracked a bottle of E., Sue, and CD17 on site. Cant wait to check this place out in the summer once the snows gone.

Thinking about the upcoming Belgian beer fest I was surprised to see Hill Farmstead, as a somewhat local, not on the brewery lineup. Have they been to any of the Extreme Fests?
    - I might be remembering one??

On Weds., April 13, we'll release Works of Love: Brasserie Thiriez.

Each 375ml bottle is $15 with a limit of 2 bottles per person.

In July of 2015, our dear friends Daniel Thiriez and Marielle Paquet of Brasserie Thiriez joined us at the brewery, so Shaun and Daniel brewed a barrel-fermented wheat and oat ale on the small system. This edition of Works of Love aged and matured over the course of six months in oak barrels, developing into an elegant, sophisticated representation of the friendship and respect shared between our two breweries.

Has anyone tried this new Works of Love yet? No reviews posted. I will be in Hardwick Saturday I am trying to figure out if it's worth it to swing up there quickly to grab 2 bottles. The previous Works of Love have been "meh".

Yeah I missed that one! I tried the previous release and it was good, I just think my expectations were too high. I also may have been confusing WOL with Leaves of Grass releases. Went today and pocked up 2. Can't wait to try it.

haha yup definitely thinking of LoG. The Works of Love de Molen was awesome, too. I didn't expect much from it and I was blown again. That almost got me up there this week to try this one but I never made it. Very curious how it will be.

HILL FARMSTEAD GIVES NEBRASKA A FARMER WAVE

    JASON PICKETT - APRIL 12, 2016

Hill Farmstead Brewery will debut its latest ale, Farmer Wave, in the coming months according to an approved label by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

Farmer Wave is an ale brewed with oats, lime zest, lime juice and salt. The brew and name originated with the rural truck driver gesture, strangers wave to each other with a raised index finger, an acknowledge a passing moment of friendship. Brewing it was also a reason for friends at the brewery and Good Life Provisions, a beer and wine distributor, to meet up and brew a beer together.

As with all beers this Greensboro Bend, Vt. brewery produces, this ale will be sold in extremely limited quantities of 750ml bottles at the brewery’s retail shop as well as a few accounts in Nebraska, where Good Life Provisions is based.

An email sent to the brewery was not immediately returned

The Cigar City collab sounds fun. Hope it lasts until next Thursday, at least on-site.

Anybody have any insight on the seeming decline in growler fill options? For a while it felt like there were always 8-10 beers on tap to go, and the Wayback Machine tells me one week in January had 12. Just a seasonal lull or a fact of life in the new tasting room setup?

More options = longer wait times/less efficiency. I'm sure the number of options will continue to fluctuate though.

Has there been any consideration given to setting container-fill limits for the summer? For example, 10 containers and then needing to get back in line. It seems like it would greatly improve efficiency/ wait times as the busier season approaches. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks for the info.

I will be at Hill Farmstead a week from Friday. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what are the odds they have Everett still? I just don't know how readily it is available. Should I trade with someone in person so I can get one for sure?

Edit: What TambaTime said, but include Everett

No insider knowledge, but I'd put money on Everett making it until next Friday. I bet the Thiriez will be gone, but that the CC will survive.

Good chance all three will be available on-site.

Everett has gone very fast during other releases. I've missed it a couple of times either during my trips or a friend's trip. No limit on it means a big batch, so you're probably good. Don't sleep on George though!

I did this exact trip at the beginning of this month. Chicago to Buffalo to Waterbury then straight home. We brought coolers that had wheels and packed them with foam to stop the bounces and ice/water to keep it cold. I brought back 22 growlers, all of which stayed cold that way.

On Weds., April 27, we'll release two beers!

    Genealogy of Morals

Each 500ml bottle is $20 with a limit of 3 bottles per person.

Genealogy of Morals, the name of one of our most coveted Nietzschean narratives, also happens to be one our barrel-aged imperial stouts. We brewed this wheat imperial stout, added a touch of coffee, and aged it in a selection of bourbon barrels from our favorite distillers. Aged 24 months in these barrels, and many months of bottle conditioning, the beer is ready for release.

    Good Life Provisions Farmer Wave

Each 750ml bottles is $10 with a limit of 4 bottles per person.

Saison brewed with oats, lime zest, lime juice and salt.Brewed and bottled at Hill Farmstead for Good Life Provisions LLC.

Hugs feel great. But when you find yourself behind the wheel of a 4,000lb truck rumbling over the gravel, hugging each person you pass just isn't in the cards. So you raise your finger off the wheel just enough to acknowledge your neighbor. The Farm Wave is a completely legitmate and wholly appreciated acknowledgement. It really is the least you can do to recognize that fleeting moment you share with another person. It is simple, but meaningful.

Farmer Wave exists as its own sort of acknowledgement. The brewing brought together friends separated by the evolution of life. The process was a reason to reunite and the product is a gesture from one friend to another. There are simple ways we can share our worlds with each other.

Farmer Wave is one of those ways.

Heading up Thursday with a big Gose fan, so this is great news.

Anybody have a sense of how much CC WoL is left?

It should last through Saturday. If anything, they'd lower the limit to one or two bottles Friday or Saturday to make it last through the week.

That's how the last several big releases have gone and they handle this thing better than any other brewery IMO.

I know it's tough to compare because every release is different, but based on the general trend of late, have the limits been dropped that first weekend at all? I'll be heading to HF on Friday and just wondering if I should expect 3 per person on Genealogy of Morals to be 2 per by the time I get there.

Like I said, impossible to say, I know, but educated guesses work to pass the time on this Monday, ha.

Making the pilgrimage from Chicago to HF on Wednesday. First time to Vermont, so I'm beyond stoked. I thought about starting an Onion-esque thread like "Headed to Vermont - No Help Needed", but figured I'd pop in here instead to say I appreciate all the HF/Vermont info in these threads and the NE subforum in general. You guys have covered just about everything...a few times over.

It'd be really surprising if the limit dropped before Saturday. They know how many people they see in a typical April week, how many buy full allocations, etc. and typically set the limits to last a week+.

Other than Juicy, I can't think of a beer that had the limit dropped in the first week since they set the new release policy. Maybe one of the fruited Floras? And I suspect the initial high Juicy limit was meant as a nice treat for the die-hards; tough to believe they thought it would last through Saturday at 4 per.

I wouldn't stress about it. Worst case you take the money you would have spent and put it towards an onsite bottle of CD17 or a Green Mountain Special at Parker Pie.
