The homeless mule is in rehab, so I'm sure there will be plenty.

Back to after market valuing for these beers. It was fun to think that was gone for a week.

I for one am thrilled to hear this. Original RareR was a thing of beauty and still to this day one of my favorite Cycle beers. Off to the FT/ISO forum!!

Cycle fumbled this release, IMO. First, they gave no indication that this would be a much smaller batch than the coffee series. Second, they give the hint that it was indeed a larger batch by making it a 6 person limit. Then they realize they'd set the limit too high within minutes, so they knock it down to 4, which in retrospect was ridiculously high for such a small batch. I live in NE Tampa and took me 50 minutes to get there. I got in line behind 5 or 6 people and the darn thing sells out before the 3rd guy ahead of me gets his turn. Yo Cyle, this should have been a 2 bottle limit as you did in the past with other smaller batch series.

they probably underestimated the crowd and didn't want the bottles sitting in their tiny space for a week like the coffee set.

is that a ken lawrence guitar as your profile pic?

Word is that 40 or so people joined the line right after the count that set the limit at 6pp. Cycle being super cool adjusted pp amounts so those people could get bottles too. For as high demand that Cycle stuff is, I don't think many places handle releases as well as them.

Cycle has been pretty transparent about how they do these releases for a while now... Doug counts the line at 7:45 and makes sure the limit he sets allows everyone in line to max out without them running out.

If you show up after 7:45, no guarantees.

If you make a decision, without any info on batch size etc. to show up an hour after the 7:45 count, and you don't get beer because of that decision, it's your own damn fault, period. Stop trying to blame the brewery.

Not a single person ended up with 6 bottles. Doug adjusted before the doors opened as a bunch of people joined the line right before 8. If you were there right before or at 8, you had bottles. If you joined after, that's you're own fault. Another great release from them again.

Not to beat a dead horse, but saying Cycle fumbled it is kinda like saying that the quarterback fumbled when the quarterback tells everyone the play in the huddle, then goes ahead and runs the play, flawlessly hands the ball off to the running back, and then the running back waits to show up at his leisure after 8am still expecting to get bottles.

Showing up at 8:15 after dropping my kid off at school is not really showing up at my leisure. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

My point was not to call you out for being lazy.

I was merely suggesting that it's not Cycle's fumble when they tell you when to be there and you aren't there at that time--regardless of whether you were there 15minutes behind because you had to drop your kid off or if you were a more leisurely 3 hours behind.

As a matter of fact, I didn't show up until after 8. Because they lowered limits, I thankfully got bottles. But if I didn't, it wouldn't have been a big deal and it certainly wouldn't have been the result of a Cycle fumble.
