I bought a 4pk last year after finding it at a Whole Foods and saying "hmmm...this looks decent".
Drank all 4 within a few days.
Had no idea ahead of time how good it was & totally regret not buying a few more 4pks.
Will not make the same mistake this year.

Sweet. Been waiting for this one... I'm assuming they're releasing the barrel aged version @ the same time?

Nope, would be nice, but the '12 barrel aged was already released and you had to be there for the release, never makes it outside the brewery. This '13 version will have to sit until it comes out this coming December.

I finally had a bottle of this, I found a 2010 bottle back in Dec at a store and it was unbelievable.
I also agree with DCT, I have a 3 year vertical in my cellar. Just cracked a 2011 a couple months back and it was amazing.

Well, fuck me... that kinda sucks. I went on my first whale hunt and I'm already exhausted... Too many whales man. TOO MANY! Who's got time for this shit?

Maybe the beer I am most excited for at EBF, Barrel Aged Plead the 5th. I have one lonely bottle in my basement of regular Plead from last year, should have bought more than 1 four back.

This is perhaps my favorite "easily available" big stout. It sits on the shelves for a couple of months, so I don't have to rush right out & buy a case of it. Love this beer.

Nice. We are doing a brewery tour from GR to Detroit. Bell's, Dark Horse, and Arcadia. Then it's face melting.

I was able to score a four pack of this for 20 bucks last year. I felt I over paid a bit so I am going to ask around for a case. I am sure a case will last me a while since it took me 3 months to kill off a case of Big Black Voodoo Daddy.

PS: anybody know of a place in Pittsburgh that might get this? Whats the average price of a case?

I just checked the website and it says "750ml Bottle Only" but at the same time it says " 4-Packs of Good ol’ Bottles"

Can anyone confirm this, because my state is notorious for jacking up bombers of high ABV beer. If I am still able to score a case though the price might be fair.

Sounds like a loaded trip man, can't make the Orbit Room show but I'll be there for Detroit. I plan on doing a similar trip from Ann Arbor>K-Zoo>GR the following day, try to get in as many places and crash in GR for the night so no one has to drive.

Since the brewery came to MN a few years ago, it's been in four-packs. If I recall correctly, $11.99 - 12.99 around here. $20 is closing in on extortion territory.

  26. DrDemento456

    DrDemento456 May 15, 2009 Pennsylvania

Damn ok so the case should be around 70-80 bucks (at most)

Yeah I figured it was extortion since PA prices are jacked. It was still worth it for 20 if that makes sense, hell I would pay 100 for a case (4.17 a bottle) if they offered. Man I would buy all they had for 12 bucks a four pack!

Doing the math it might actually be cheaper to just have a case shipped to me if I had a generous BA hookup.

Well I am going to ask around and see if I can get a distributor to get it in. I appreciate it if I need it shipped.

I'd skip Arcadia and spend more time at the other places, maybe hit up a few beer bars in Kzoo or Bad Bear Brewing along the I94 corridor. Just my $0.02

WTF! It's $14 in Champaign, IL. And, I am guessing at least $14 if it ever hits Chicago. F'ing IL distributors (and taxes)!

EDIT: I am pretty sure it was $12 last year in Chicago. In the past year craft has increased about 20% around here!
