Both original and coffee (!) 4-packs at AB Liquor in Adams Morgan. And only $19.99!
Just to clarify, we should be seeing more BW starting today?
coffee sold out as of 7 pm this evening, according to the store owner. there was regular left.
Yep. I know that several WF and TW have received theirs already.
Very nice, I'll be on the prowl today. Great tip, thanks.
keep this thread updated with sightings, yes? i wouldn't mind trying coffee or barleywine.
Barleywine currently at TW McLean
TW Alexandria too. 19$ 4pack. One pack per person. Got four cases in. Also have bitter valentine
Looks like TW McLean just sold out of BCBW.
Norms is getting BW in today. Im chilling in the parking lot waiting on the truck!
So does TW typically hide the wales in the back and you have to ask for it? 'Cause I was just at the one in Towson and I didnt see any. The did have some 50/50 Eclipse though (red wax).
Had it behind customer service at TW Alexandria. But you could easily see them with the prices, along with a few other cases of stuff. Also picked up Jai Alai.
I asked one guy about the Jai and he told me don't forget to pick up the BC BW. They were going quick! Luckily I had my roommate with me so I got to pick up 2 4packers.
BW just landed here at Norms. One per
One bottle or one 4-pack?
yeah one bottle. $5.49 a piece
It's funny, I as there Tuesday asking about it, and they were pretty adamant that they weren't getting any. I wanted to say "Oh yes you are!"
when i picked my 2-4pks of BCBS last go around they were on the shelf between the singles and the 6pk isle
yeah have have had the same experience with them. Seems they dont know about stuff until it arrives or the day before. I asked the guy working the register about Backyard and he said they weren't getting any. But who knows
This is annoying considering I went to TW McLean on Wednesday and asked at Customer Service about BW, I was assured by the guy they were NOT getting any, which I found odd. (knowing that Sterlingbeerguy mentioned it certainly was coming to NoVA)
I don't want to open back up the Total Wine bashing, I like it and shop there, I just don't understand the incorrect information that gets relayed from their employees to customers. I don't blame the employees, they go by what they are told, but somewhere up the chain of command, miscommunication is happening.
Does anybody know if NOVA is getting any more of the Backyard variant? I want to try it badly
TW Towson had BCBS cases on display by the registers the weekend after Black Friday - definitely not hidden. There were still bottles of last years 50/50 Eclipse's there on the shelf as well, Elijah Craig and another I don't remember. While that store MAY hold some things back they definitely put much of it out for grabs.
wait a minute... WAIT A MINUTE... JUST STOP RIGHT THERE PAL!!
THis in IN!?!?!?
kaboom goes the dynamite!
Only listen to Sterlingbeerguy.
K, I will stop trolling now.
Cheers and Happy Holidays to those of you who know me and those who don't.
LOL.. I would have made it out today if I hadn't already heard from my buddy that you guys were down to your last two Bitter Valentines last night; thought McLean might have been an option there, no dice but walked away with some BCBBW as a consolation prize. Either way I'm sure you'll still see me before Christmas regardless
My Dad snagged me a 4 pack of Barleywine tonight at TW Duke St. As a bonus, he also got a bottle of Bitter Valentine. Thanks, pops!
In their defense, the distributor was recently purchased by another distributor that hadn't done business in NoVA up to that point. The timing was bad as new management took over the day BCBS was released. My shipment was sent to the store with no notice at all. When I contacted my rep, he hadn't even been told. We hadn't even finished converting our data files for the new distributor let alone had the capability to receive a shipment. I was eventually given allocation numbers later in the day(which turned out to be inaccurate) and received it with my normal shipment. I hadn't heard anything on the Barleywine, since those initial allocation numbers, until yesterday afternoon, so it isn't outside the realm of possibility they actually weren't aware they were getting it.
Just FYI ... Adams Ribs in Severna Park (next to Dawson's) has a keg of BCBS in stock and will be tapping it shortly after the New Year .... date to be announced
got a 4-pack of the BW, a bitter valentine and 12 jai alai's (hidden in a wine aisle) at TW Alexandria little river turnpike today.
Rodmans has regar bcbs. 29$ in a rare instance of rarity inflation
BCBS at Harris Teeter Ballston:
Regular BCBS at Yes Market on georgia ave in petworth
K-1 liquors on Columbia pike (across from the giant) has barleywine.
Singles or packs? $$$?
2 per person. With tax was 12.70, still had some as of 6 PM tonight.
TW Fairfax had 2 cases of BW under an hour ago. 1 - 4 pack limit
BW at Wegman's in Fredericksburg. 4 packs available and no limit posted. 3 on the bar top in front of the can display and one on the end cap next to the Gulden Draak gift box.
