    "
Oak wooden barrels of 100+ yrs old are used to mature the young lambic together with 3 different whole fruits.
    Re-fermentation in the bottle."
"the 3 fruits added to the lambic are; yellow gooseberry, blackberry and sour cherry."

Where did you find that quote?
I'm a BIG De Cam fan but I've never heard/read about that one.

Yep the cart was all lined up but no way I can pull the trigger after some ridiculous beer purchases over the past couple months. Hell, who the fuck am I kidding, I'll probably end up getting 'em!

There are some reviews on the other site. I'm not sure if anyone has had this aged, since it appears to have only been featured at festivals twice in the past (in May 2009 and May 2012, respectively?), and was just bottled for the first time a few months ago.

I had a bottle two nights ago and really enjoyed it. I didn't take notes, but I thought it had a really fascinating nose (somewhat musky and floral; green grape [sauvignon blanc]; and blackberry) and a nice jammy and pungently sour berry note (strawberry; cranberry; sour cherry) to go with just a hint of the earthy De Cam funk. Almost flat. Unique, at least in my beer-drinking experience, and very tasty.

Who needs notes when you described the beer with so much detail??? I'm not sorry about my purchase after reading this...

I rationalize my purchase with the upcoming warmer weather and lower electric bill. Yeah, that makes sense.

i pulled the trigger too, this evening. i could not say no. it sounds amazing. de cam can still destroy, even when flat. although it IS the lambiek so i expect it to be still.

I have two. Tempted to get more. I can't wait to try it. I've only ever had one lambic with gooseberries and it was quite delicious. Lots of tartness, oak, tannic character. I expect this will be a high quality lambiek coming from De Cam. Also picked up some De Cam Framboise but have yet to open it. Excited for that as well.

I haven't had the Framboise but their Oude Kriek is to die for.

De Cam is great stuff for sure. I stopped in for a few beers and a meat & cheese plate while I was there last October. It's amazing how different the lambics and fruit character differ so greatly between Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen and De Cam. All terrific examples of authentic lambic. Making me thirsty...
