I think I have the last ticket in my cart. I need to purchase two but only one is available. Bummer.

Just saw on Facebook that this event is now sold out. I figured it was just a matter of people seeing if they got GABF tickets to sell this one out. Can't wait for another great Rare Beer Tasting. This event is better than GABF in many ways.

It is official: The Denver Rare Beer Tasting V is sold out! Thanks to everyone for the support and confidence in buying tickets this far in advance of the event. All About Beer Magazine is recruiting a great list of brewers (nearly finalized) and the beers they plan to bring are truly rare, exotic and vintage. We hope to be able to announce the complete list shortly. We are working on the event details at our new venue, the McNichols Building at 144 W. Colfax, and will strive to make this fifth annual edition one to remember. We appreciate the craft beer community's continued support of the Pints for Prostates campaign. Cheers!

Anyone remember the Odell debacle last year?

Last year Odell reported some less than rare items initially, too. They showed up with 2-3 unannounced items that were more in-line with the theme of the event.

There are definitely beers I scratched my head at, but there is a solid selection there and some really cool vintage beers. As always, I am sure there will be more beer there from the brewers than what is listed above.

Remembering all the discussion/hating last year I couldn't believe it when I read the list. Had to look it up to make sure Footprint was the beer I was thinking of

I remember when this list was first released, Kokopelli Brewing (not even open yet) was on the preliminary list for this year's. I think the only thing these experiences teach us is just not to put too much stock into advance lists. Brewers get the invitations months and months ahead of time and may need to rush registration to make sure they don't get left out if it's an event they care about. It's almost assuredly the case that if the brewery made a big change to what they brought to a fest that it was in the cards all along; they just don't always know what's going to be available by the time of the event, or in the case of barrel/wild projects, even good to drink at that point.
