I was having lunch at Tilted Kilt Schaumburg and ordered a Green Line, and was handed a tinted green beer that tasted suspiciously like a domestic macro brew. The waitress swore up and down that it was Green Line pale ale that was specially tinted by Goose Island and not the bar for St. Patty's day. Is this bullshit or legit?

When I worked at my dad's bar we would die the kegs of Lite green in house. You can also get them pre-died, but I would expect it to be done at the distributor not at the brewery.

But as for Green Line? No idea, sorry can't help you there.

I find Green Line to be fairly tasteless anyways, though not quite to the extent of a domestic macro... well, certianly not in the same way. Could have been legit.

They absolutely did not. My guess is they had a green miller or bud keg on the before Green Line and didn't clean the line in between kegs.

How dare you, I assume a place with the name tilted kilt has the utmost respect for craft beer (and woman) and would clean the lines appropriately.

I'd be shocked if they knew lines need to be cleaned.

You can also dye them yourself. You just pour a higher strength dye or food coloring into an empty chamber in the tap and pus down, infusing the keg with the dye. It's easy but that shit stains everything.

You know how bars put Coors on the Miller line when they run out? Maybe they thought no one would notice, lol
