A buddy of mine brought two sample bottles to a small share we had. One was apricot and the other blackberry I think? I dont want to hate and they might create amazing stuff later on but they were not very good and one was alot worse then the other (soapy tasting)... From what I can tell they are not aged in any barrels yet so who knows what they might become in the future.
We were hoping that they were going to be amazing but that was not the case, and I forgot I had tried them until I saw this thread.

P.S. we were drinking some amazing stuff that day so maybe they never had a fair chance, but I am all for new businesses starting up and hope they do well.

If I remember correctly Casa sent out free beers to people on Instagram to try and rate. I had a Casa beer and enjoyed it but I and I assume most others were very turned off when one of the people involved started trying to trade their stuff for Loonz and Van Wink type BA beers (my experience). In this case I have seen much of the same. As a member of SBAE, I have seen him give out beers as well as trade them for more established world class ones. Now this isn't as bad as the Out of the Park Pizza guy or some of the other ones I've seen but his attitude has totally turned me off from the brewery. Like some others have said, there is enough great ones around that I wouldn't feel when I spend my money elsewhere. A little humility and transparency goes a long way here. Take notes from the guys at Sixpoint or Modern Times, those guys kill it at PR.

What's the deal with Out of the Park Pizza? Been there a few times, Black Friday events, etc., haven't seen anything funky going on.

They also really dislike negative feedback on Yelp, and get into arguments with those folks all the time. Basically it's Dio level customer service.

    Darn the glasses are $15

That seems a bit steep it comes to $16.13 if I pick it up

thought would be cheaper or get discount for being a founding member

so far questioning my choice hope the beer is not crazy expensive .....

All members have a shirt and glass included in their membership. That price is for additional purchases for people who may have splitbtheir membership and want additional glassware or shirts.

I realize this, which is why I asked if there's any update? Is it common for a license to sit pending for three months?

Approval takes on average 90 days for an "original" license (vs. a person to person transfer). It can take longer in some instances, which is hopefully not the case here.

I can't tell you if they will get their liquor license or even deliver the promise of the beer club, but a friend gave me a bottle of their Dry-Hopped Gose and it was excellent. "If" the quality of what I had can be reproduced on a larger scale and they deliver on the promises to everyone that shelled out $250, I would definitely be interested in signing up the following year.

Hey guys, wanted to give everyone an update on license: Our TTB license has been approved & ABC has notified us that we will get approval in 2 weeks as well, but will not sign it off until we have everything in place. It took us WAY too long to get our building permit to finish our trench drains and gas line hook up for our brew house, but we finally got it and we are working very hard to get the brewery up and running so you guys can come check it out. We project to open to the public right before Christmas. If you make it to our brewery during the first week, we will have two sours on tap starting off: Peach sour with vanilla bean & Raspberry Tart Farmhouse that was dry hopped with Wakatu and Simcoe! Of course we will have our other beers on tap, but for those sourheads, I wanted to give you guys a heads up! Cheers and hope everyone is having a good week thus far!

I don't. Was it the guy(s) from Dionysus that ended up with like 50 Parabajavas?

Don't see how the Parabajava incident relates to Dionysus... Guy was a friend of the brewer and not affiliated with the brewery in any way. Why bring it up?

Well, regardless of the implication that the friend was helping/mule for him at Paso, some serious discussion should be had about the way the website is written.

He implied (though he didn't say specifically) that said brewer may have been involved in their little bottle obtaining scheme.

I doubt said brewer was involved in the bottle resale scheme, though. Nobody is that stupid, are they? LOL

I agree, I had some on tap and didn't really think they were outstanding. They were average, certainly better than some that I have had. The Saison and Stout was nothing to write home about. But they didn't have any off flavors or anything bad. They just weren't flavorful and complex.

ABC approval was issued on 1/28/2016! Definitely took longer than expected but that is okay! Opening a brewery is no easy task, as you can tell, but we are right here ready to get this thing rolling! With our beers, we will be aging them much longer than our home brew batches. Getting the name out there and creating a buzz was important to us. Now that we have a place that is damn near ready to go, we want to create a fully complex and flavorful array of beers. Of course not every beer will cost $20 a bottle. I believe that is the highest price point we can charge. We fully expect to be able to sell our sours (750mL) from $12-$16 on average. We will for sure get in the groove as time goes on and see what people enjoy the most so we can produce more of it! We need guys like everyone here to help us along the way because we believe that listening to our customers will help our business grow and in return will help with fine tuning our recipes for our beers to become better and better! Without you guys, we are nothing! Glad you guys were able to follow the process and if you guys ever have any questions, never hesitate to ask!

on the facebook page it says the first beer is already in barrel, my question is which one is it and when is it anticipated to be ready to bottle?

The first batch is our Rosé Sauvage and it is a golden sour (2-row, white wheat, torrified wheat, rolled oats, Caramel 10L, and Vienna w/ Fuggle hops) that has been aging in French Oak Rose barrels from Foxen Winery. The fruit was added 3 weeks ago and we saw subtle fermentation from the added sugar. BUT, 2 days ago I noticed that one of the barrel was just going absolutely crazy and pushing out the pulp from the top from a very vigorous fermentation. Once the fermentation halts again, we will order the bottles and start filling them ASAP. I would say (just from the top of my head) that the barrels will be ready in 2-3 weeks. Of course, I will be doing a sensory test and hydrometer test to make sure the gravity is stable. This is a beautiful beer and should sit at 6.5% ABV! We cannot wait for you and everyone else to try it!
