Amazing weekend. My only complaint was waiting over 3 hours for my allocation while all the people I came with were cutting in line. Luckily, the carma of waiting my turn paid off as a had a winning scratch off ticket. I felt like Charlie Bucket winning Wonka's golden ticket. My expectations were high and they were surpassed exponentially. BA's are amazing people overall. I can't wait to go back next year.

I was pretty amazed by the improvements made over last year, which was my first DLD. I managed to get in, even though I was ticketless, thanks to some crafty friends. No DL bottles to take home, but my girl has her allotment, so I'll still get to enjoy those with her. I'm reading an awful lot about people stealing from others, and that pisses me off. People like that don't belong in this scene, and anyone attempting to steal from me or my friends would be eating through a straw right now. I'm also very sad to hear of (attempted) sexual assaults...that shit would result in a pretty severe beating by your's truly...whether I knew the victim or not.

Everything under 3 Floyds' control seemed pretty great, though there is always room for improvement. Anyone who thinks 3 Floyds doesn't care about their customers is simply not paying attention. They deserve mountains of praise for a job exceptionally well done.

Please rationalize these two seemingly contradicting statements. You "stole" admission to the festival.

I dont know if anyone brought this up yet but did anyone mix syrup with an average FFF sour at that table? I thought that was kinda cool the four sourish beers on tap with 15 different syrups. Man despite almost getting killed by bald bull from punch-out, this had to be the best DLD in the 6 I've been too.

Please don't tell me you equate my doing so with literal physical theft of other people's belongings? All it amounted to was my meeting more friends, rather than sitting outside the gate like a lost dog, a single draft purchase of BA Hell's Black Intelligencer, and being able to help my girl carry her shit, all while sharing good beer I brought with friends and strangers alike. I can assure you that I did not detract from your experience in any way.

If anyone has any leads, a friend of mine had a bag like this taken from the area between the merch tent and the picnic table tent. Hopefully, someone just took it accidentally - but I really doubt it. He doesn't care about the bag so much, but there was a Surly Five in it that he'd like back.

Also, since probably over 100 people asked me, I got my I'm Fat, Let's Party shirt from Seibei.com
My face was almost as red as the shirt at the end of the day. Thanks for nothing, sunscreen.

I merely asked you to rationalize why it's ok for you to steal admission to the festival, but you are going to beat the snot out of someone for their act of theft.

FYI. The $30 ticket that most of us paid for went to cover all of the things at DLD which were not pay-as-you-go. This includes porta-potty rental, tent rental, fence rental, festival set-up and clean-up, hired private security, additional costs incurred by FFF related to the Munster Police and Fire departments, the bands (which many would say are well worth the $30 on their own), etc., etc. You were at DLD inside the gates, therefore you used these items (regardless of whether you think you did or not). And you did not pay for them, which is theft.

You most certainly did not detract from my experience. But what if 500 or 1000 or 2000 people were to sneak in to the festival? At some point it would detract from my experience. Why is it ok for you to sneak in, but not the hundreds (if not thousands) of other people who want to attend, but don't have a ticket?

According to the Contract of Carraige: "Carrier will compensate the Passenger for reasonable, documented damages incurred as a direct result of the loss of, damage to, or substantially delayed delivery of such Baggage up to the limit of liability, provided the Passenger has exercised reasonable efforts and good judgment to minimize the amount of damage. Actual value for reimbursement of lost or damaged property shall be determined by the documented original purchase price less depreciation for prior usage"

well that is the fault of security. All I got was Id and given a wristband to get in, never had to show my ticket or wristband or have my bag checked at anytime as I first walked into the gates with group A, but I like it that way, mellow security. It seemed to work fine.

I'm not sure why this thread is flowing like Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story", but the obvious question is if you bought him a ticket then why didn't he have a ticket?

Amazing day. One of the best ever. We had a great parking spot, partied with some great people in the lot. Drank some incredible beers. Inside the expanded space really made a difference. And in the end, I came home with a boat load of darklord, 2 variants and a hot blonde.

third time going to DLD, my favorite so far.

pros: so much more space than years past, didn't have to be smashed to people next to me. portapottys everywhere. food that was actually warm. BA DL on tap outside. perfect weather.

con: waiting 3.5 hours in line for group D. the only bright side about that was getting to take a 30 minute nap while waiting for the line to move.

Exactly, and 5% of 10,000 is 500 thieving a-holes. So, on a percentage basis, small number; but on a real number basis, enough to make you mindful of watching your stuff!
