What I like even more are the people who use $4$ on older beers. Ie: vertical epic 02 was $7

Maybe I've been lucky, or found some great traders, or both..but it's rare for money to come up in conversations regarding trades. Within reason, if you're happy and I'm happy, why let a little bitch like bejamins get in the way:wink:

"This is the same guy that worries he will send an extra that is better, more expensive, or hard to get than one he receives."

I always try to do the best I can with extras, either by knocking off some of their wants or just throwing in a ton of cool locals or something special. They are 'extras', so if I don't get anything in return, I don't even care because I'm just grateful for the chance to share good beer with someone. I have been lucky in the last year in that I have made some solid trading partners in strategic places that I don't usually have to worry about either of us feeling bad about extras as the favor will eventually be returned. $4$ is a rough guideline but the bottom line for me is that both parties are happy.

Dollar for dollar and ounce for ounce its the only way to go.

I'll generally start out with $4$ as a guideline (on first time trades I always do...) but after the first trade it isn't really an issue at all. If it is something from the same year, similar value, but totally different size $4$ or Oz 4 Oz is helpful as a general guide. I generally try to include extras that I would be happy to receive, esp. with stuff I have laying around regardless of price. If I have a bottle that matches a want or really goes along with the trade even if it is the same $$ cost as the actual trade I'm likely to throw it in.

I guess I just go by trading with others how I would like to be traded with...
