Picked up three four-packs last year, got one so far this year. I'd buy a whole case if I could but it's one four-pack limit at my local stores that carry it.

Yep it sells out at most places around here in a a couple hours or less and we also have better BA stouts available. It's certainly a good beer and I'll buy some if it's not too much trouble, but people here get disproportionately excited about it compared to other beers. Zombie dust is the same way.

Grabbed a 750 just for the novelty of it. KBS is only "good" fresh. But thats just like my opinion, man.

Well, some guy dropped over $400 to clear out my local grocer of it, so....yes, they do.

KBS flies off the shelves in Michigan. I picked up 2 bombers and 4 4-packs at the Founders release. It took some work and I was able to get 9 additional 12-oz bottles from distro. This is by far my favorite stout. The bourbon, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and roasted malt flavors are so well balanced.

I lucked out and got four 4-packs, and could have had at least twice that. I limited myself due to being under-impressed with my last 2016 a few nights before, and a desire to load up on other ones I like better such as Prairie Pirate Bomb and BCBS. Also looking forward to trying CBS and Xocoveza. KBS is pretty OK, top 5 for me, but barely. For considerably cheaper I like several of the Central Waters bourbon barrel offerings which I'll load up on.

In my area of Ohio, bigger grocery stores were severely limited in the stock they received. I had no less than a dozen people ask this week if we had any, but since we received none this year, I had to send them elsewhere.

The thing is, that particular style of beer has a certain flavor that is common in other big bourbon beer distributions.

I think Lagunitas hit a home run this year with a 6 pack of strong stout beer....I think they will do it again and sell quick. The problem with these bourbon styles is that hype and limited supply create a big artificial demand.

I'm not saying they aren't good, but it's silly to chase this flavor profile when many comparable styles exists.

I guess the million dollar question is should I pay 12$ for a can of Ten Fiddy? I have never had it.

Gotta be talkin' BA'd. Still, questionable, other than the cool factor.

I will always seek it out. Picked up (2) four packs today. And I have access to Huna, all Funky Buddha and Angry Chair. It's still a high quality beer imo. Panama City only received two cases in one of the big craft beer stores, so it is limited in Florida. Love stouts!

Bought some last year at $25 a 4 pack to give it a try. Good beer, but absolutely not worth the ridiculous price tag. My local store hides it in the back office and will only sell it if you happen to ask for it. I refuse to pay the silly price, there's a lot of alternatives that I enjoy just as much at half the price. Why do they sell it for $25 a 4 pack(?), because people will pay it, plain and simple. For myself, I don't want to encourage the trend of breweries charging outrageous prices for beer so I refuse to buy it now. Brewers have discovered that they can charge whatever ridiculous price they want if they make the beer artificially scarce by only producing a limited amount. Usual disclaimer, this is just my humble opinion.

But to answer your question, it still flies off the shelves here.

I love High Westified, so that's a good one. Although it seems pretty similar to KBS in how quickly it disappears from shelves.

O'so is pretty limited in that they only distribute to a couple states, it appears.

To answer @Biff_Tannen's question - yes seems that way here in Chicago. I was psyched to get a couple 4-packs - still love me some KBS.

I'm jealous - we've only seen something like that with frootwood ...

I'd take BA Fidy for $12 over KBS at even $5. I prefer BA Fidy, and it's 19.3 oz vs 12oz. Way more barrel evident in BA Fidy. Would love to get my hands on Rum BA Fidy!

It's not as good as it used to be, maybe this is one reason why. Sort of like Abraxas, that's out of St Louis I think.

Abraxas used to be an amazing beer, the best, now it's a cinnamon bomb not even at the KBS level.

Drank KBS and Sunday Morning Stout side by side tonight. Last year I thought SMS was just as good but this year I thought KBS blew it out of the water.

Maybe SMS is too hot right now but that's the beauty of KBS, it's so smooth.

SMS is much cheaper and easier for me to get so I wish I could say it was better but KBS still bangs.

I just want to say it's always good to see a @Biff_Tannen thread. And the return of Hop_King too? BA nirvana. Keep it coming.
