Do you belong to a tasting group?

I'm setting up a monthly bottle share with some folks in the Western Illinois area. Our first meet-up is later this month. Pretty excited. Never been a part of anything like this before, so I'm geeked to have folks to share great beer with.

 

I host tasting parties. I usually get hired out once or twice a month to give a "How to Drink Beer" tasting. Usually end up tasting six or seven different types. I've hosted parties as small as six and as many as eighty. I try and tailor the tastings to the group that hires me. I did one last year,that was mostly BMC with a few craft lagers, for a bunch of bikers. It was a blast. I get to meet new people and they pay me to try new beers. Tend to be busier in the summer.

 

I have several, actually - one that typically has tough to find, non-whale, brews - two that meet randomly and feature monsters, like a recent four year vertical of Dark Lord.

 

I've come across great one in LV. Not only can you bottle share but where we meet has a great selection of taps and bottles for purchase.

 

If by Tasting Group you mean ; friends in your circle wanting to try a sip of whatever weird beer I happen to be drinking...then Sure.

Seriously, I can't get my close friends and neighbors to quit Bud Lite, let alone drink a beer with undeniable flavor.

 

No. There was one in their area, but I never got around to joining them (at a craft beer bar). I haven't seen them in the Pacific forum for awhile so they may have fallen apart...

 

I would join one however I am not aware of any.

We have a group that meets monthly. It's pretty new (started over the summer), but it's been really fun & friendly. Met some great people & had some great beer.
