If you only ate Twizzler's licorice but not the generic one, then it makes sense. If you'll only drink Peet's coffee but not Circle K... on and on.

Craft and BMC adjuncts are all broadly beer. There's a value distinction within the class, not a judgment of the entire class.

Beer Pimp. The beer does all of the work while I enjoy the profits. "Raging Bitch better have my money."

i would never call myself that. i get why the term exists. and i guess it makes sense. still, to me, the term geek doesn't seem to fit with beer somehow.

we should call ourselves Beer Vikings or Beer Conquistadors or something. something that will get us more chicks

I look people straight in the eye and tell them that I'm a living, breathing, alcoholic.

People understand that I enjoy beer after hearing those words.

I think and talk about beer countless times a day. I am fortunate to have a few buddies that share my passion and that I am not boring shit out of them when I gush over a stout I had the other day...any body's nipples ever get hard when you see a good beer? Just curious....not that it ever happens to me.

No I do not and its the same reason I don't call myself a metal head even though I I like heavy metal. I don't want to be labeled or stereotyped a certain way. I prefer to be seen and viewed as open minded and things like "beer geek" or "metal head" are very limiting especially since they come labeled with certain stereotypes.

Geek...a few weeks ago, I was..enjoying a Youngs Double Chocolate on Nitro and received the first one in a frosted pint glass....ugh.

For the second one, I politely asked for it in a room temperature glass. Did I get the "boy, are you a dork" look from the 25year old female bartender. Didn't care cuz that beer was damn tasty

Not sure what I consider myself. I drink Plenty of highlife and narrangansett so I'm not a beer snob. I homebrew a little on the side. I drink plenty of craft beer and check the dates on my IPAs and buy the new seasonal releases/

I'd say I'm more of a "beer guy".

Definitely not a geek nor an advocate. Kind of an opportunist - if a good beer falls in my lap I will drink it (the beer.)

Yep. And I point out the difference between a Geek and a Snob. And that I try to always be the former instead of the latter. :-)

I personally dont see the word geek as having a negative connotation. My wife calls me a beer geek on occasion.

    What about Beer Junkie?

I know far more about beer than I do about what I majored in at Purdue. So yeah, I'm a bonafide beergeek.
