Yes and no. There is a shift but I don' actively exclude styles because they are 'out of season', I'll happily drink SN Nooner in the winter and I don't have any problem with a RIS in the summer. I'm not sure if the shift is because seasonal turnover either introduces me or reintroduces me to a style and I get on a style kick trying the various takes on the style or because of the weather I'm subconsciously something lighter or heavier.

It more depends on my location. Tropics-light lagers and pilsner. PNW where I live- anything anytime (don't really have seasons just more rain and shorter days)

I'm mainly a seasonal drinker. Spring and warm weather brings hops and wheat, sours and pils. Now with the weather getting cold, it's all stouts, barleywine, and bourbon.

I love stouts all year long, but warm weather just makes it tough in the summer.

I would say yes as I do crave more stouts during the colder months but a stout is always enjoyable to me. During the summer when temperatures hit 100 I will turn the AC on and enjoy a nice big stout inside.

In the summer I love to sit out back by the pool and drink light Saisons and such, by the dozen....In the winter the fireplace is a good place to cozy up with a heavy, dark stout, one at a time...by that's just me...:sunglasses:

Not a whole lot, but I notice I tend to drink stouts more often from Fall through Winter.

Sometimes just time of day influences me....Oatmeal stout for breakfast, IPA for lunch, barrel age for dinner, chocolate stout for dessert.

This 100%. Even if I'm not in the seasonal mood for something, I'm likely to get it because I won't see it again for another year.

    Appetite or palate?

    That's two different questions.

My appetite changes based on seasons only during our super hot Texas summers, when I tend to crave "lighter" beers (for lack of a better descriptor). But even then, I still like drinking big stouts and eisbocks and quads from time to time, so "mostly no" is my answer on appetite.

My palate has changed a lot over the years, but the seasons and weather have had nothing to do with it as far as I can tell. So my answer is "no" on palate.

I'd say yes to an extent. I'll always have a taste for a summer beer or something like Kona or Landshark. But fall and winter beers it definitely changes. I'll drink whatever usually but there is nothing like the seasonal beers with the beautiful changes outside.

I don't think my tastes change but I do find myself geared more toward maltier beers in fall and winter, then to lighter and hoppier beers as spring and summer roll on through. I still drink what I want during the whole year though.

+1 My palate may get stuck on a particular style, but I make sure that my frig has multiple styles all year around. It forces me to get out of a rut sometimes of drinking the same couple of styles. Speaking of which, I need to buy more Quads and Dubbles and...and...and...

My palate has changed since I started drinking craft but I dont think its the seasons doing it. I just drank an oktoberfest today but with that said in the bast 2 weeks I have drank a few barrel aged stouts and scotch ales, but I think this is just due to whats available at the time in my local shops.

Mine doesn't really change all that much with the season beyond buying and consuming certain beers fresh when they are better fresh. I've been known to pull out the imperial stouts and winter beers in the summer, as well as drink more summery beers in the winter.

My beer drinking is consistently all over the map all year long. I do prefer drinking sangria and tequila in the summer, and scotch and bourbon are my preferred spirits the rest of the year.
