Yep, me again, here to complain about another NC brewery's lack of quality control. Got a bottle of Thrilla in Vanilla, cracked it and there was a loud pshh! as I opened it but there was no immediate gushing. Thought to myself "Could a be a little overcarbonated." Proceeded to pour lightly and foam immediately filled the glass. Finally got a decent amount of liquid out of it and went to review it. No vanilla and barely any malt could be derived from the aroma or flavor due to the intense carbonation presence. I go back to the fridge to get some more and foam is overflowing out of the bottle. All the other reviews make no mention of these things. Did I get a bad bottle? I assume this is a bottle conditioned beer. I've had my share of overcarbonated bottle conditioned homebrew and that's what this reminds me of. Either way, I feel like I've wasted my money. Anyone else experience this with this beer?

I've had it both on tap and bottle format. Although I didn't have a 'gusher' or notice a significant amount of carbonation in the bottle, I thought there was a big difference in flavor between bottle and keg. I thought it was much tastier from the keg. I split the bottle I had with someone who visited their brewery and had it in a flight prior to tasting it from the bottle, and he too thought it was a much superior beer from a keg than bottle.
