Know its been done but cant find it, im really liking ipas as of late but i dont enjoy much of the maltier ones like loose cannon, Hopsecutioner etc.... could i have suggestions of easily found hop foward beers so i dont waste any more time to find out the hard way i got a malty ipa which isnt my preference. If found in cans too the better because i have limited space to hold. Thanks.

Unless it's draft or growlers, cans of Odub aren't easily found here.

I'd grab some Ballast Point. Sculpin is great. Grunion was also nice as well.

Had some Flower Child by Cambridge and that was solid.

Could give some more suggestions, but depends where you are in NJ (North - closer to NY/NYC or South - closer to PA/Philly). I'm up North.

Easy to find, year round, regularly available and very hop forward.

Hopefully next month we will be able to add Kane Head High to the list of easily obtainable IPA's in NJ.

Any hoppy beer from Neshaminy Creek, mainly County Line and J.A.W.N. because they are easy to find. Shape of Hops has become a bit difficult to track down this year

I had a Sierra Nevada Hop Harvest with four as-of-yet unnamed hops last night and that was exceptionally hop forward. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm with you, I like my IPAs "brighter" and more hop forward.

Im talking about ipas that are not more malty than hoppy. The past couple times i pick some up they end up being too malt foward or english style ipas and are not my style.

I would look for Two Roads Lil Heaven that just came into NJ this week.

Here are a couple that I enjoy:

Stone Enjoy By: Usually not too difficult to find when it comes around
    Sixpoint Bengali and/or Resin
    Firestone Walker Union Jack

As always, fresher is better. Look out for dates because some of these will just sit on shelves. If they are more than a month or two old, then they'll be just as malty as the rest.

I definitely wouldn't pick up resin if I was looking for something with no noticeable malt presence. It's one of my favorite IPA's but it definitely has a sweetness to it.

While I agree that it has a sweetness to it, as many double IPAs do, I still feel like it is more hop forward than malt forward. However, it needs to be really fresh. Otherwise it gets a bit heavier on the malty side.

I know it's a mater of opinion. But I don't see how you can call any American IPA as being "more malty than hoppy". Just because their is some mild biscuit, bread, or caramel flavors to balance the hops?

I get it - you're looking for a very pale IPA that uses little (if any) kilned or crystal malt. But any IPA is going to be "hop forward".

That being said - I'd recommend Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter. Or any of the beers being labeled as "Session IPAs" - every one I've tried is thin and lacks really any malt flavor. Oscar Blues Pinner comes in cans, so does Terrapin RecreationAle.

I understand what you're saying, I think we may have just taken the OP's question a different way. Resin is certainly hop forward which is what he asked, but if he wants less noticeable malt i think of things like 077xx, Heady or anything Stone makes (admittedly those aren't necessarily readily available).
