Out-of-towner question!

I have family in the Wesley Chapel area. Any recommendations for bottle shops for getting FL local craft offerings (Angry Chair, Cigar City, Funky Buddha)? Located between Wesley Chapel and Tampa area?

 

Unlike some haters aka distinct palates, I enjoyed the hell out of Look to the Cookie. I forsee this one to be glorious. Shame I'm stuck on the 1 bottle club until next round.

Not sure that they'll open it back to 2 bottle memberships. I was under the opinion they only did that once, and if you un-did it, you can't get it back...

 

I've heard that you have to be in 3 el cat rounds continuously before they offer you the 2 bottle option.

 

I heard you really really have to know whether MZ is used to make Huna before they'll let you get a 2 bottle membership.

They only offered 2 bottle memberships once and it happened to be to current members after round 3. You didn't have to be in it for all 3 rounds and they have never offered it to anyone since then.

Had it today, you're spot on. Good beer, just not worth the $ if you're used to getting top notch IPAs. That said it's a great tasting room option, happy to have it on tap as an option. 5 years ago it would be great, today its solid and enjoyable. I recommend a pour if your onsite.

Oh but a buddy of mine had it & said:

I more or less agree with this review. I also had it on tap and it was probably a little too cold to taste everything. That said it was very "smooth", not a lot of barrel or burn. What there was a lot of was coffee. So much coffee. I enjoyed it.

Look to the cookie was fantastic, the chocolate and vanilla really came through at 55 degrees. I though ba penultimate was mediocre... a lot of very bitter coffee made it almost tart tasting to me... and that was the one I was most excited for.

 

Did anyone try last weeks Growler Tuesday... Vendimia De Marzo. Had it Friday. Was damn good.
Was a blend of Abs OK, a CCB Base BA Stout (did not know they had that) and an unreleased ECC Smoked Stout.
Tasted phenomenal, I got little to no smoke lots of barrel. Crowler was a little steep $29.00 (but I had to grab 2)

 

Man, I hope an unreleased ECC Smoked Stout stays unreleased...

 

This is not an El cat beer, it's most likely the beer being brewed for municipal waste. If you look at the growler description it doesn't refer to the smoked porter as being BA. Also the ba belgium strong ale in that growler is not absolutely ok, it's the ba strong ale that was on for growlers the week before. Same style different beer.

Not saying the growler wasn't good, it also had Brandy Bolita in it. Just saying it's not all attached to El Cat
