Sunday Oct 1st 2017 Big Bad Baptist will be available, a true sign that fall is finally here. I stopped by the brewery yesterday and asked about variants. last year they had double barrel and baptista but got no info. I know triple barrel will be released in about a month

On another note, Friday, they released their first barrel aged barley wine. I picked up a couple a couple bottles yesterday but have not tried it so be on the lookout!

It's not available here. This is 2017. Triple barrel variant coming too. It might be fun to pick up a bottle and see how it differs from 2016? maybe?

What I mean is that bbb is not a yearly or seasonal release, it's constant as I understand it much like Dragons milk.

Irregardless and despite not loving the regular, I'll definitely pick up the tripple barrel to try if I see it.

Big Bad Baptist is indeed a once a year release, not sure where you got your info. It just sits on the shelves in some markets, so maybe you see it more than others

BBB is certainly on the shelves in Massachusetts pretty much year round, but according to their website (assuming it's up to date), it hasn't been released in 2017 yet. That said, they don't just have just a single release of BBB each year. Last year, there were 15 distinct releases of BBB. The first was on 8/15/2016 and the last was on 12/6/2016. Across those 15 distinct releases, there were 6 distinct versions of BBB (i.e., 6 different coffees used). Seems like they're getting a late start this year.

Interested in Triple Barrel BBB for sure, although their barrel counting continues to perplex me. I always thought they were over-counting with Double Barrel BBB since one of the barrels was just the barrel-aged coffee beans (the beer itself was only aged in one kind of barrel). Now with Triple Barrel BBB it seems like they are under-counting, based on their definition of a barrel (not mine though, lol). Given that the coffee beans are barrel-aged, the coconut is barrel-aged, and the beer is aged in two kinds of barrels, shouldn't it be Quadruple Barrel BBB?

Small correction: the first 2016 release was on 8/6/2016 (not 8/15/2016).

This is not accurate at all; BBB is not a year-round, but there are several batches released every year - their website has details for each release up to #83.

That triple sounds amazing! BBB is usually so roasty that some rum and coconut could really balance that out perfectly!

Yea, Big Bad Baptist is a weird, yet delicious beer! Weird as in the releases. In the past, the various BBB batch numbers/releases would sit on shelves throughout Seattle and the surrounding community's. Lately, this stuff has been harder to come by. Either less has been released into certain markets, or more people are buying them up.

Looking forward to the new releases.

I lived in Utah for a couple years just recently. Really bummed I'm missing out on this. Always went out to Epic for bottles since the state stores sucked. Hopefully it reaches Wisconsin!

Few months ago I had the Double Barrel BBB from 2016 and I was instantly hooked. Loved how the barrel aged the coffee beans, such a great idea. I hope they do that one again this year so I can get a few.

Since I had such a good experience with that Double Barrel, I am quite interested in this one as well.

I know for sure they are doing Baptista and Triple Barrel..I haven't been able to get an answer on more Double Barrel. My guess is the Triple barrel is taking it's place but that is a pure guess.
