Where can I find beer events for the greater San Francisco Bay Area? I'd like to become a vendor.

The Twittergrambook is a good place to start. Follow local breweries, bars, etc.

You're talking about beerfests? There's no comprehensive listing that I'm aware of, but googling around will probably do you fine.

Yes, I'm looking for festivals where I can set up a booth to sell tickets for a drawing to raise funds to open a bottle shop.

I very, very much doubt that will work. Booths aren't free. But you can ask around, there are plenty of fests going on on any given weekend.

You are looking for business investors at sporadically held festivals that cater to people looking to maximize their drinking after paying $60 for a ticket? IMHO, it seems there are some better ways to go about raising money for a bottle shop. Have you talked to local store owners?

Since you're being snarky to people just trying to give you any information, you can always try this link to help you find some festivals: http://bit.ly/10MN3KJ

Yeah. You're right. It was a poor decision to think a community of beer drinkers who advocate beer would be able answer a simple question about beer festivals.

It's not like I presented a business plan for critique or asked readers here to become investors. Or did I and just didn't realize it?

As for snarky...look in the mirror. Seriously, if you can't contribute to a meaningful dialog, don't jump into the conversation.

And what's with the negativity? My interest is opening a quality bottle shop where non exist. It's not like I'm an immigrant with no money coming to America and using gov't money to open a liquor store/cigarette store. Some of you make it seem I'm doing something wrong by building something from nothing. That used to be the American way.

It's ridiculous that in order to get a sincere answer to a simple question by some here that I have to disclose a business plan and discuss details that are none of their business.

To the others here who have been helpful and sincere, thank you.

I think a booth at a festival could be a cool way to generate buzz, and maybe a bit of cash (at best). the buzz would help with what could maybe be a simultaneous step - a kickstarter. seems like that's how everybody gets their ideas off the ground these days.

another good way to build nice buzz, friends, and funds: a positive attitude and the ability to shrug off comments that you find snarky or even derisive. seriously, (a) this is the internet and (b) everyone here is in favor of more good bottle shops.

    1, https://www.facebook.com/JanesBeerStore
I believe the owner of this store got her fundings from kickstarter and/or indiegogo. Maybe she can help you out.

2, Look up the event calendars from distributors' websites. Some booths at beer events are actually hosted by the distributors (or even third party reps) instead of breweries.

    Hope thats not too obvious...

This is actually a good point.

You (OP) are insulting people on BA who are making good points (after you ask them for advice) and then refusing to give even the slightest detail re: your business plans

    Good luck!

    Thank you for your feedback.

I never asked for advice. I asked for information. I simply asked where to find info on beer fests.

Agree. I used to helped a brewery host booth at beer fests around bay area. To be very honest, a majority of people are just there to shove me their cups for beer. Usually at the first hour, I still have to do some talking to help people pick the "lightest, strongest, most refreshing, yet most flavorful" beer, but after awhile people are just milking whatever they can get. So OP if you are talking about 1 or 2 dollars raffle ticket, you should be fine. If you are asking for funding? In a booth not pouring beer at all? Make sure Donald Trump is going and make sure he's
drunk before you talk to him.
