Should have just shotgunned it. It's the best way to preserve the hops anyway

And being a bit unproductive at work is worth it for Heady Topper.

Had my last can of HT fall on the floor and it got a pin prick in causing it to spray everywhere. This is all before I was taking it to a friends for a side by side of Heady and Pliny. Luckily enough I'm a homebrewer and plugged the hole with my finger, grabbed a bottle, poured it in and capped it. Took it over to my buddy's and it still tasted great and didn't lose all its carbonation.

I think I would have called off work.... "Sorry boys, can't make it in today, something came up!"

I had 3 bottles of KBS fall out of the backseat of my buddies truck last year minutes after picking them up from Founders. 2 of the bottles were fine, the 3rd was cracked badly, and needed to be transported carefully through the hotel so it wouldnt fall apart. I also dropped a new bottle of Doom in the middle of the Founders black party. That was pretty embarrassing.

I once poured out an entire sixtel of Old Viscosity (I guess not rare but one of our pricier sixtels, could buy quite a few rare bottles for what it cost) down the drain, when I owned a beer bar. Hooked it up, in basement walk-in, first thing in the AM on walking through the door & didn't realize the bartender had left the tap open the night before (and overnight) for some reason when he kicked the previous keg. Burped the fob and headed upstairs...

Would have found out immediately and maybe only lost a couple quarts, a gallon at the most, but food delivery guy caught me on way upstairs with some problem with an order that required, in his mind, immediate attention. Ten minutes later, went to check behind the bar, burp the line, make sure it was ready to go....Found a tan head on the drip tray & a dark puddle beneath the rubber floor mats...

That was a bad morning. But we changed some procedures after that....

All my spilled beers magnetically attract to my computer keyboard.

I was at a bar in Ithaca New York that had Devil Dancer on draft. I ordered one and the waiter (who was very very feminine (not that there's anything wrong with that, just needed to add it for visual)) got so excited about the tennis game that was on he proceeded to lose his balance and smash my Devil Dancer all over the table along with my girlfriends Racer 5. Between the tennis match and his mistake his reaction was priceless.

I bought a bottle of BA Dark Prophet from Funkwerks to send someone, on the way inside my house I slipped on ice and fell to the ground, however I was able to cradle the beer so it didn't break, my elbow hurt like shit but it was worth not paying for another bottle.

Last year I bought a case of Hopslam. It was pouring rain when I took it out to my car and I lost my grip on it when I was putting it into my trunk. I dropped the whole case in the parking lot. Fortunately only 3 bottles broke, but it was pretty tragic.

3 bottles would have cost me 15 bucks, that is a tragedy

I think it was $18 or $19 a sixer here last year, but regardless of the price I just hate to see great beer come to such an unfortunate demise.

I agree, I lost a bottle of FBS in a trade box and I was heart broken, also all my other beer smelled like delicious coffee beer, hate to lose such a quality bottle!

I picked up a bottle of founders smoked porter the other day, bottom of bag blew out as I was opening car door! Sucked, I went back in and old the clerk hoping he would hand me a new one. No sympathy, I had to buy another.

A few years ago I had just got back from the store with a six pack of 5 day old Lagunitas Maximus and the bottom ripped out of the bag and all but one shattered...I'll admit that I cried a little while drinking the only unbroken bottle.

I dropped a bottle of BA speedway stout, sometimes you can still see the stain on the sidewalk.

That's terrible, I always carry my bags with one hand on the bottom since I've def lost groceries the same way, groceries come and go, beer doesn't.

Sounds like a ghost story, sometimes, when the moon is full during the harvest the stain reveals itself in the shape of Fidel Castros silhouette .
