Does EBF in LA 2017 mean no Boston '18 EBF?

Probably a stupid question, but is this for BA's only?

If not, are there added potential perks for BA members?

EBF LA will be open to the public. There are no specific perks for BA members, however, our fests are a great chance to meet a ton of BAs in person.

Awesome I am preparing for my second trip to EBF in February can not wait for the day I can drive to EBF instead of flying across the country. For anyone on the West Coast who has not made it Boston for EBF it is an amazing event.

Was going to hit San Diego for vacation next year, but an LA trip around my birthday isn't a bad alternative. Should be great.

Will breweries from the East be attending this event? Such as Kane, Funky Buddha, Other Half, etc? I know that they are going to the Boston event.

Or will we have mostly West coast breweries?

2 hour drive. Not out of the question to do both depending how much time you have.

EBF without the threat of a blizzard just isn't the same.

You could plan to fly out of Logan the day of the festival and retain the risk of missing the festival due to flight cancellation .

Those of us in LA, don't view blizzard threat as a plus for beer festivals.

We have more challenging decisions, like should we wear our winter tee shirts

    :)

Is there a beer list for previous fests or for this one, seems that some pages I found are dead now.

I told myself I would never go to the city of LA again because it's a pit of despair and traffic, but I guess I'll have to make an exception for this.

Yeah, all I could find were brewery lists from a few years back. Nothing resembling a beer list. This is the closest thing I could find to a brewery list from previous years:

    http://brewnosers.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8932

I really wanted to see what the "extreme" meant in the choice of beers.

Most brewers bring high ABV and/or experimentals.... What are you asking for, rarities? special one offs? I can try and help

Last year's EBF Boston list was posted in this year's thread. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/extreme-beer-fest-boston-2017.452649/

"Extreme beer" isn't just about high ABV. It's about beers that push the boundaries of brewing. You'll see this in last year's list wherein nearly 150 beers were 7% or under and the sheer creativity.

Awesome, thanks! I was hoping that that was the meaning of extreme. I'm not a fan of 100% barrel-aged beers, so this is right up my alley. Can't wait

Todd already answered, but I'm hoping more sours and creative beers, not 15%ers. Ingredients that aren't commonly used, stuff like that.

Def sours and definitely crazy ingredients. A lot of spice, odd flavored stouts and sours.

    Todd,
Do you guys fear this will shrink the amount of breweries willing to travel cross country to Boston from the west? Or vice versa?

We're still working out how the invites will work over time, but it's not a concern. Plus we've had a waiting list for EBF Boston for over a decade, so it'll be nice to be able to say yes to more brewers.

Regardless, the lineups are going to be very different.

I'm kind of hoping (although I'm aware logistically and cost wise for brewers it may be less likely) that the high quantity of Northeast brewers will make the trek to the west coast and vice versa make the trek to Boston.

Awesome, I have a good friend that lives 5 miles north in Silver Lake that's always trying to get me out there. I'm going, finally something on our side of the country! What will the price be per ticket?
