In our experience, glass tasters at large beer fests are a safety hazard (the venues we deal with don't allow them either) and a huge waste of resources. We switched to PLA (Poly Lactic Acid; plastic made from corn) cups years ago, as they can be recycled or composted. There's no impact on your tasting experience either.

This may be a stupid question (and please forgive me if it is) but the FAQs say no outside food. Does this include pretzel necklaces used between tastings?

Very much looking forward to the event.

Nah. I've seen a bunch of pretzel necklaces at every BA fest I've attended.

Those looking for hotel for Extreme (or ACBF). I have stayed at Westin Boston Waterfront and convention center for these and just booked for Extreme. Just got great deal for Friday March 21 on priceline. Express Deal shows 1 4 star hotel in Seaport/Convention center area for $132 before tax, from description I thought it was the Westin, I tried name my own price and figured if didnt work would take express deal. To name own price go to that section, select 4 star, seaport/convention area and I bid $125 (before tax). It was excepted at Westin. So $148 after tax and fees for 4 star hotel. Its steps from where the beerfest is. Maybe you can try lower bid but this hotel list price is $220.

As we are getting closer I'm sure that I am not alone in wondering if there is any updated tentative lists for the beers. Sorry is this has been covered. Cheers!

As with every fest in the past, we'll start posting beers roughly 30 days before the fest.

Just booked my hotel using hotwire, and I was booked at the Westin also.

For those of you who still need a hotel, if you download the hotwire app and use it for the first time right now, you save an extra $25 dollars.

One of the mystery options is listed as "Boston Waterfront - Convention Center Area Hotel." The price is listed as $114 for saturday night (plus $28 in taxes in fees). With the $25 in additional savings, I ended up booking my room for the night for $117. That's a $60 savings compared to the price Westin is charging on their website.

Just an FYI for everyone who still needs a hotel. See you all there!

Also, the Westin is .4 miles from the venue, so pretty walkable
