Really?? Can't believe I stumbled on this while browsing Ebay. Someone is actually trying to sell a cap and cork from a Fantome, and they think someone will buy it?? Maybe I'm the crazy one, but that seems really odd to me. I LOVE Fantome brews, but this is ridiculous. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brasserie-F...357?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cec1a4ce5
Maybe I can put up some empty bottles for sale too. Let me dig through my trash and see what I've got....... lol
I think I have the receipt for the last Fantome that I bought. Maybe that will fetch a couple of bucks....
I've bought lots of caps on Ebay for a project of mine (covering my coffee table) but would never buy a blank cap. The cork is branded so that might be interesting for someone.
I wonder if alcohol had anything to do with the person posting this in the first place....hmmmm..... Someone went through one too many bottles if you know what I'm sayin.... lol
At first I laughed at this, then I facepalmed. Clearly there is a market for this otherwise the seller wouldnt be doing it. I have friends that do some crafty things with bottlecaps instead of throwing them away but I really am curious what would drive someone to spend nearly $4 on a cork and cap. At that price...i average nearly 20 bucks a month in thrown away tome caps/corks! Id love to know what DanyP thinks of his used corks and caps potentially being sold for almost as much as he charges for a full bottle at the brewery.
I f'n love caps and even collect corks (from beers I've had) and have seen (never bought) many beer-related items on ebay, but have never seen a cork for sale. Whether or not it sells this time, I guarantee someone somewhere would want it. There are at least a few people who only collect champagne-style beer caps and they ask ridiculous prices for them on ebay. At least they're not asking ten bucks!
If you want to laugh, or cry, search for Westvleteren. Only on its best episodes can Curb be as amusing.
There is only a market for it if there is a buyer. Listing it doesn't make a market. There is also a great side business for people selling used tap handles for more than it would cost to buy a new one directly from the brewery. There is a sucker born every minute.
